If you could live anywhere in the UK...

I don’t! I have no objections at all. No one in my archery team seems to have any issue competing as team GB either.
The DUP do not speak for everyone here. Thank goodness. They always seem to be looking for reasons to be offended :rotfl:
Back on topic - despite the arguments over the name and nationality, and the DUP being offended - It's a brilliant place to live (Although if you think the argument over Britain or Ireland is bad - don't go to Derry/LondonDerry lol)
House price are affordable
The people are friendly (mostly!)
The landscape is stunning - especially south Down (although I am biased!)
Uni Fees are cheaper0 -
Hotel Wroxham, much improved since new owners took it on a couple of years ago.
Isn't it?
We stayed there last week (after our booking at a riverside pub in Horning was cancelled on the day we were due to stay) and we found the Hotel Wroxham at the last minute and they had just one room left. We had our misgivings when we arrived at the car park, but it was lovely inside and the view from the terrace is fantastic.
Great food, lovely staff and a fantastic location.0 -
I think I may have dropped a nomenclatural clanger there in post 82, but no offence was intended!

I moved to Bournemouth 40 years ago and am now just down the road in Poole. It is a lovely place to live - but traffic can be very bad, especially in summer.
Another Poole here! Completely agree.. the beaches are beautiful but traffic can be horrendous in the summer because of it! I'd love to move somewhere more rural like Wiltshire, where there's less holiday makers0 -

Britain and NI make up the United Kingdom (The full title being the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)
When the UK was invented, they forgot to come up with a term meaning UK-ish as opposed to British. A bit odd really.0 -

Just waiting on a lottery win...
Totally second Hove, it is a great area, we tried to move away but couldn't really find anywhere like it here. Sea and South Downs are at the door steps for outdoor and nature lovers. Close to the hustle and bustle Brighton but don't have to live in it. It's liberal and diverse, lots of different restaurant, activities. All these are within walking/cycling distance, and doesn't need a car for daily activities.0 -
I always wanted to live in central London and finally made it 9 years ago so I don't want to live anywhere else.
That would be my ideal, a flat in central London along with a place by the sea. I can dream...:rotfl:Really loving Leigh on Sea still. Will retire somewhere quieter unless I need to be near family.I moved to Bournemouth 40 years ago and am now just down the road in Poole. It is a lovely place to live - but traffic can be very bad, especially in summer.
I like both those areas.0
