Yes, agreed - I didn't want to transfer money to an account I didn't have access to so I could verify the funds arrived in the account.
Still looking at accounts but thinking will open a Marcus later this month when the interest rate drops on my 123 account.
    Thanks
    Kev
    123 drops tomorrow.

How long does it usually take for funds to appear in a marcus account? I sent as faster payment this morning but still not showing. With every other financial institution I bank with, FP always shows up on internet banking instantly. Any ideas?

    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100

It is instant for me. I assume that you have used your designated linked bank account.

Sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes several hours, or even days at weekends. Mostly it happens within a couple of hours.

    Same goes for withdrawals.

Thanks for the replies RG and Colsten. Yes it was from my designated account. Payment has now arrived.

Makes me a little anxious having just opened this new account with them. Never used them before and they dont have a UK app. I always check my accounts pretty much daily on the apps, takes me seconds and gives me peace of mind. Can't do this with Marcus

I've tried to open an account a full week ago. Apart from the on screen message that they're reviewing the application I haven't heard anything from them. If I try to log in with the username password I specified I get the same "please wait" message. Not happy with their customer service.
I've started an application with RCI bank instead, they're much more responsive.

I always make a small contribution to new payees to check it's all set up correctly. And you usually have to use a card reader for the first anyway. Subsequent payments are a doddle.

They're ok, don't worry. I agree, though, not having an app is a bit of a pain. Quite astounding for a brand-new provider to launch something without an app, IMO, but many savings providers don't appear to think apps are the way to go.

They often also don't participate in Open Banking, so even if you find an Account Aggregator that you like, you can't include them, and the only way to check your balance is to actually log in. Having said this, logging into Marcus is simple. If you use something like Lastpass, you can speed it up a little.
