I do ten minute bursts and they work for me.
My disability means I really can’t manage more than that at a time.
The ottoman of doom was tackled the other day & didn’t take me nearly as long as I thought.
Break it down into baby steps:)
The ottoman of doom sounds like something from Hammer Horror.:rotfl:.

Well I'm sitting here waiting for delivery of my new cooker and trying to kick-start the declutter which was started a long time ago but recently the house has descended into chose. Let's just say the humiliation of having to have various tradesmen in the house over the past few days nearly pushed me over the edge. I was so embarrassed. I've made a pledge to myself to get it sorted. To be honest I can only seem to muster the energy to do short 10 minute burst before sitting for a short time but five minutes of something.
Anyway cooker man just arrived. Must dash. X
Happy Christmas! Oh I hear you on the clutter and mess. My downstairs is usually presentable but upstairs is a disgraceTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Happy new cooker! Lots of little bursts will add up to big results in the end, so keep at it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks all.
It's definitely going to be little bursts for a while but if I can see progress it will keep me motivated.
I'm working on DS to take the Christmas tree down. I'm not keen on it but after boxing day Christmas is over so it really needs to go.
When it comes to clearing out the biggest areas to deal with are...
Front/sewing room - as usual
My bedroom - it's like a Laundry
DS's bedroom -
Stairs - I need to get DH to move the stuff off the stair up stairs because my energy doesn't allow me to carry stuff upstairs.
If I can get these areas done over the next few weeks I will feel like I'm getting somewhere.
One thing I'm looking forward to is getting the washing to dry outside. In the meantime if I can get the front/craft room sorted I can put the airer in there rather than my room.
Need to dash now. Will be back soon with progress.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Don't be so hard on yourself. My house is full of clutter too despite my best efforts - especially upstairs. I got rid of what felt like 10% of our house contents this year - but have about another 40% that probably needs to go.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
