I'm so glad your dog is better. I know when you are paying debt down it is easy to quantify everything in monetary terms but actually, he's one of your family and the emotional weight has lifted. Clearly the running is helping - you enjoy it, you are losing weight, seeing your friends and family, improving your fitness and well-being - what's not to like!
It really sounds as though that dead weight you were carrying has shifted too. - And I love a lime and soda - it's my non-alcoholic drink of choice (along with elderflower cordial and soda) - just made some cordial, using the Mary Berry recipe - cheap and deliciousSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I suppose you could always send a copy of the vet's bill to your Ex to !!!!!! his conscience! Might take some of the pleasure out of his new car !2

You sound pretty positive Emma which is good.
Bottle Green do a nice elderflower cordial. It looks expensive but you only need a very small amount as it's very concentrated. Belvoir Farm also do an interesting range of cordials too if you're looking for some non alcoholic options. Check their website. Their ginger one is very nice if you like ginger We use ia dash of it with stewed apples, pears or rhubarb to add an interesting flavour kick.3 -
Lots of positives there still Emma. Glad your dog is doing better. Wise words from @Suffolk_lass. I think vets know how precious are pets are to us, and that’s factored into the prices!
Why your Mum thinks you want to know what your ex is up to I just don’t know.
Onwards and upwards. Loving that little saying - really true! You are also setting a fab example to your children, by moving forwards and not dwelling on what might have been (but never was)!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Emma. Your children may still be at the stage where they crave new clothes, but if yiu can get them to the point where they realise what good financial bargains can be I tqined from charity shops they could grow up saving a fortune over their adult lives. Such wise management of money is a habit best learnt young. I think the secret is to encourage them to have secondhand things they really like to wear. They will then feel good about the habit and understand how it benefits them.1

Hi Emma, Well done you on your weight loss and workout.
I really needed to hear this - I've been off the wagon lately but just enjoying my food guilt free but from today I am trying to get back into it and of course getting my mindset in the right place doesn't always happen overnight! I'm a fan of walking workouts and follow a couple of people of Y Tube. Anyway long and short of is that I have put on a little weight but did the walking workout and registered my breakfast on the app I use.
I've discovered the love of 'new to me' clothes too but more so on my kids. They are growing up in a better mindset about these than I did. My mum was a bit of snob about it when we were little. I tend to wear my clothes to the bitter end and don't have a big volume of clothes. They don't really interest me much - too much of a tomboy but I have got a bit more girlie as i've got older.2025 financial goals & challenges!

My 16 year old son loves a good rummage in the charity shops. It's one of his ideas of a good day out. He calls it "thrift shopping". One of his most favourite sweatshirts cost £5 and his latest t-shirt was £2.
Well done on the running. I'm working today but I got on the scales this morning and nearly fell off them with shock. Diet and exercise to be taken in hand immediately! I really miss running but my knee is not fully functioning just now (best description that I can think of) so I think running is banned.2 -
I picked up a £500 Longchamps handbag for £5 in a charity shop - it remains my best bargain ever!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
