  • Amazing, well done!! :T
And it'll be great to pay 2 more cards off before Christmas too, always seems 'neater' when there's only one debt to concentrate on :D

  • Happy Friday

Just a quick one from me, 3 NSD's in a row which is a good result for me! Today is shopping day, going to aim for a spend of £25 out of my £50 budget. Still got a freezer full of meat so its literally fresh stuff and drinks, although i do need some shower gel etc. Also supposed to be top up day of fuel, however i still have just under half a tank of fuel so im going to set myself a stretch target to not top up until Tuesday of next week!

I can feel a stinking cold coming on, so going to spend this weekend indoors. I really need to cut back some bits in my garden so going to attempt that, if not just going to take it easy around the house. My sons birthday on Monday so really want to feel better for that!

My son is seeing his dad this weekend, so going to take some time out for me, which im really looking forward to. Weekends like this also mean they are pretty low spend, win win!

    Here's to a good weekend all x

  • Just caught up on your diary and well done on getting rid of that awful loan!! So happy for you and I know you'll get debt free in no time. Seeing your focus and determination is so inspiring.
  • Just popping in to say hi and read your diary over the last few days, well done on paying off the loan, bet that was a big relief for you, I was so chuffed for you when I read your post that it was paid off you will be debt free before you know it.

Hope the cold didn't appear and you are having a nice weekend.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you guys! Yes it is such a relief, and actually has given me more determination to get the other balances down as quickly!

So this weekend I have spent £9, not a lot probably could of not spent, but I did lol. The food shop came in at £24 so more than half under my weekly budget.

Today is going to be spent doing cooking prep for the week and just double checking the meal plan works.

Oh sadly the fuel hasn’t lasted as long as i hopes as I had to drop my son to his dads on Friday so this will have to be topped up Monday as opposed to my target of Tuesday. Considering my top up day is Friday, I did get a few extra days to stretch it!

It’s raining here, really feels like winter is on its way, perfect time to be frugal! (Minus Xmas lol).

    16 days and counting........

  • Thank you wish, I think for the first time in my adult life I feel hope that I can live a new life that isn’t shrouded in uncertainty and poor money management. I remember always complaining that I could not understand, with such a good job, how I was always broke. I had such a victim mentality around it. Now I can completely understand why I was always broke, and it was all my own fault!

I hope you are ok wish, And I hope your day turns out to be a good one x

  • It's amazing what a change on mind can do, eh? It takes a lot to face up to your own shortcomings!
  • Absolutely does DFM, but oh isn’t it so worth it!

I’ve had several comments over the weekend about why I’m always turning down invitations these days, I got told ‘you only live once’ and ‘ what’s the point if your not enjoying yourself’ - Dave Ramsey’s words came into my head ‘live like no one does now, so you can live like no one else does’. People just don’t get it, and the most ironic thing is a couple of months ago it would of been me spouting those words of wisdom when people were saying they were saving lol. Oh how times have changed! :rotfl:

  • It is a bit like waking up from the matrix isn't it!
We had to loan my SIL £100 this month to pay her bills and then she went on a weekend to Wales as soon as she got paid - I used to be exactly the same but it seems crazy to me now haha.
