Buying New Car, Finace vs Outright

BINGO...
You've stalked me since day one. You think you're the kingpin here being the big I am.
Trouble is 'buddy' you've picked on the wrong person.
Answer my question about bragging?
I can list your car bragging, here's a few:
M140i, A45 AMG, MCS, Z4, Subaru WRX, Z4 Coupe, BMW 535D.
That's just the new ones!
There's more folks.......stay tuned.
Yeah not all of us hide what they drive.
Stalked you? Get over yourself. Of the 18,943 posts i've made in nigh on 15 years, just 13 of them have been on threads you've been on.
Still not admitting you were wrong about the original post eh?0 -
What gives you the right to accuse me of bragging when you clearly do so yourself?
How do you explain numerous pictures of your cars outside your house?
I've mentioned the odd good deal that I looked at on a car and you've been all over me like a rash!
Nothing like your bragging elsewhere.......rank hypocrisy.Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience? Why? So you can argue with them?0 -
So far no answers to my questions?
Very telling bud, you've been rumbled.
Keep deflecting, dissembling.
You liked the Alfa Romeo Guilia, too big though? Or was it too expensive? After all it was worth buying because it's so 'damm pretty'. You absolute t.w.a.t....Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. Simple question for Motorguy:
If I said I had a Mercedes AMG, Mini Cooper S and a Porsche on the driveway would I be worthy of your opprobrium on this forum of your signature 'humblebrag'?
YES OR NO?
By the way folks this is Motorguy elsewhere........there's lots more of his rubbish car choices where he's lost loads of £'s and even flown to get a 'blow out' sale and driven all the way back.....
Hypocrisy abounds......Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I'm a car enthusiast. I've mention cars i've owned when appropriate to do so. I've posted the odd pic when appropriate to do so.
You, on the other hand, by your own admittance, are not a car enthusiast. You came on to brag about some fantastic deal you got on some fantastic secret car you got, which was totally irrelevant. So keen were you to do so you forgot to actually read all of the original post! Embarassing!
Not the first time you've mentioned this "purchase" also. I wouldnt care, but its never about the car itself, its about the fact you bought this apparently super expensive car with cash and how you got the better of the dealers a super special deal that only you could get because they were in awe of your cash. But you cant tell us what car, with what dealer and with what discount - because thats a secret.
Not the first time either. Its been a £65,000 Alfa Romeo Quadrafoglio you've had on order then cancelled, a £105,000 BMW you've had bought but didnt go ahead with, before that a £100,000 Porsche you were going to buy, before that an RS6.
None of which actually materialised but you're ever so keen to mention the price and that you're buying with cash. Almost always, oddly on a thread that mentions finance....
As i said, all those car choices are very acceptable when its about the car and you're a car enthusiast - when its about how much cash you can spend and how important you feel in the dealers, then not so much.0 -
Yeah not all of us hide what they drive.
Just get the f..out my face because I made the 'wrong choice'....in your opinion only, not backed up by the press tho.....:TFunnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. Eh? Remind me of that one?
Break the habit of a lifetime just for once, humour me... the Alfa's better surely?
If not why not?Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. Clearly not, good for you and I'm pleased for you that you enjoy your cars and enjoy 'paying more than joe public can'. It's a new thing for me.
Just get the f..out my face because I made the 'wrong choice'....in your opinion only, not backed up by the press tho.....:T
My constant bemusement at you is because last years posts were all about how you "didnt get cars", and how you laughed at car enthusiasts and how you were more than happy driving scrap for the last 30 years when work colleagues drove fancy cars and your neighbours clearly got new cars on finance to impress their friends. And always put in a scoffing and smug manner.
Then you go out and buy "something" (big secret) ridiculously expensive - the Alfa by the sounds of it now - with astronomical depreciation, which will likely totally dwarf any savings you've made and will certainly be many times what the average PCPer will lose, all the time having professed to drive scrap because you like to and "dont get" people who do drive nice cars. But thats "OK" because you bought it for cash.
THATS the hypocrisy.0 -
Entry level BMW/pretend M car...
Break the habit of a lifetime just for once, humour me... the Alfa's better surely?
If not why not?
Yup, the Alfa is better. Great car. Fantastic car actually.
Would i buy a new one? No. Depreciation is severe on them and come resale time dealers will run a mile when they see you coming and you'll struggle to sell it privately because people will want it from a dealer with a warranty because of Alfas reputation. Plus when you own it you'll need to endure your local Alfa dealer to get it serviced and maintained to have any hope of stopping the value totally dropping off a cliff and they have particularly bad reputations for customer service and price.
Try getting the value of a 2 year old one from WBAC...:eek:0
