Was that a battery lease model? Are there any other EVs with discounts at all via Carwow, I wonder? An Ioniq would be nice.

No battery owned. I just did an identical spec to mine, so Titanium metallic paint and rear camera. Although I have the R90 motor, no R110.

    £19,647 cash price, or 33%.
I had a quote for the same car back in November of £18,320, so 37.5%.

Makes me all the happier that I got my used one for 50.5% discount!

Worth a look. New Ioniq is around the corner, so if you don't need the extra range maybe now is a good time to buy? Would still look out for a good used model personally....

    Sorry OP...completely off topic!

How about this - hire, not puchase. This is where I got my Soul EV from. Very good to deal with and will customise those quotes to whatever suits.

buy a pre reg, as long as it's a legit one that comes with a v5

Its worth checking but i wouldnt assume its going to be cheaper.

Often pre-reg cars are the previous years model and thus not worth so much come resale time. Also the headline discounts are off new car list price not new car discounted price.

Pre-reg cars can often be more expensive than what the same car can be got for new.

For someone who considers themselves so careful with money I'm stunned you've bought one. You could have flushed £20,000 down the toilet and still have been better off, compared to the depreciation you're facing over the next two years. And it's not like they will stop dropping then...

Oh well, a fool and their money.....

ME careful with money, that's hilariously funny and completely wrong! You see you're not as bright and clever as you think you are. Yet again for the umpteenth time you've confused me with the other 'fred' here, you get equally bent out of shape over his comments. You need a better system for your stalking or try to improve your memory.
You are however right about losing money on an Alfa but it's no biggie really, £1000 deposit having cancelled.....
However I'll be absolutely over the moon to only lose £20 000 on the one we cancelled the Alfa for!
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

You've bought one nice car after 30 years of driving bangers and have bought one that is going to haemorrhage its value.

    Great.

    :T

At least the other Fred is consistent with his strategy.

What business is it of yours and why do you get so excited about what someone may or may not lose on a car?
I couldn't give a monkey's about the huge amounts you've flushed down the toilet over many years of buying many cars. That Merc AMG was a classic.....ouch! Plus the Mini Cooper residuals....double ouch!
