  • He started disconnecting the old WM this afternoon.

    [Sigh].

I could have sworn that kitchen was clean last night.

Vacuumed kitchen, living room, hall, stairs, landing and bedroom, then decided to SOFAADFA. There will be plenty to do tomorrow [strike]like rescuing us from a Frank Spencer style flood, most likely[/strike]. I'll worry about it when it happens.

Took my friend to Leicester to try jump starting DD's car...car successfully jumped *boom* and driven to local dealer who will look at it because they are closer to her. Right opposite King Power stadium. We followed her there and drove right past dealership as too busy gazing at said stadium and photos of their chairman and saying how sad...plus it was all in the region of the hospital which sis was at immediately before transfer to hospice...

then we all went to Fosse park and did some shopping. Dress bought for niece's wedding (20% off) along with chunky necklace but friend has lent me shoes, bag and fascinator so a huge saving there.

Sis and I were going to go to Fosse Park when she was out of hospital. So a bittersweet day.

Morning all. Haven't been up long, so just a cuppa slurped and indoor plants and greenhouse watered.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning

I've not really done any flying this week, just the bare minimum to keep things ticking over, but it looks like it'll be cooler this week so I'll be back on it.

Just dailies to do today, but there's coffee to drink first :)

I've done a very quick hoover through. Back doormat is now swishing in machine and I'm having breakfast. Bed is made too.

Scrubbed the loo and went out to a local wildflower patch to cut the docks. An hour and a half later my radio batteries died during my favourite programme of the week, I was drenched so I came home. I need to go back in a bit now that the sun's gone back in, cut back the last few and then collect the huge piles up before they get rained on and shove them in the car to take to the tip tomorrow. They'll fill it up. Unfortunately I think I left it a bit late and most if not all have already gone to seed but at least the wildflower patch looks a bit better. Guerilla gardening.
    Better is good enough.
  • Shiny new WM was delivered by two men who were delighted to find a house with a large doorway, step free access and somebody having moved the bins out of the way so they could just unload, roll straight in, drop off, get the delivery signed for and go again. Himself said they were parked around the corner eating ice creams when he came back from the shop 30 mins later, so I suspect we'd been the first easy job of the day.

WM was installed without incident (it looks so tiny compared to the old beast of a Bosch!) and is now doing its thing with bedlinen on a hot wash.

There's a chicken in the SC and he's chopping veggies of some kind now.

I have stripped the bed and mentally planned for certain items in the airing cupboard to be recycled into cleaning rags rather than sleep on them ever again, some to be charity shopped and some to be binned when he isn't looking.

I'm also going to have a cuppa, stick a plant into the windowbox to fill in an empty space and then force myself to do an online shop. I just don't feel like trailing around a supermarket with him in tow as the muscle, especially as he'll baulk at the notion of buying more and getting a cab back.

    Hi all

Visitors just gone, dishes cleared up from a lovely chatty lunch and afternoon, kitchen reset, washing machine loaded and set running. I’m so much happier now it’s cooler!

Going to have a nice restful evening with my book and a glass of wine I think. This week set to be busy again so going to relax while I can.

Hope you have all had a good weekend. See you on the new thread x
