Washing in off line, folded.
Cat hidden under shrubs in the garden, zonko, but he is still breathing as I checked as he is so still, I was worried for a moment.
More email type admin stuff done.
I'm not doing chicken curry tonight no matter what OH would like, but not sure what to do.
For some reason I 'think' I would like a sewing machine, any one who has one, what should I be looking for ie basic machine, nothing fancy, what should the machine have, or are they all a much or a muchness these days? last I used one was at school a few years ago, I would prefer to buy second hand.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Paid stuff finally done, so much for my plan to finish early to beat the heat!
Showered again
Washing in and folded
Cats are flaked out in the back garden now, JoJo, I’m not sure mine would take kindly to the damp flannel but it’s a great idea!
We just had a few spots of rain but it didn’t come to anything...
Plan for the evening is to do nothing beyond throwing some salad on a plate and calling it supper then a quick wash up
Might muster the energy to make a shopping list. All being well and provided it is cooler we have visitors this weekend so I want to try and get the shop tomorrow out of the way. Let’s see what the weather does first.
Sending waves rather than hugs, it’s too hot for hugs!!!0 -

I was lucky enough to be given one by my mum's friend; it does fancier stuff than the one I used at school - inc zig zig (have used) backward (to finish off) and various stitch lengths (never used yet) and has a buttonhole foot - don't know how good it is as I've not made any garments as such, just done various projects (usually for work) - last one was little bags like PE bags. I will be making another this summer when I can be bothered. I would advise you go to Hobbycraft (or their website) and have a look at what's available - commonly-seen well-known brands include Singer, Jones, Toshiba and Brother IIRC. I'm recommending them (Hobbycraft) because I know they carry a huge range which gives you a starting point for research. My friend got one from Aldi which had to go to Germany to be repaired. I'm planning on trying using zig zag stitch to do some applique this summer.
An independent sewing machine shop, however, might have refurbished machines, if I was BUYING s/h I would get a refurb as it should have been cleaned/overhauled. But by looking at new ones first you see what the price range is for new and it gives you some idea of what you might like to pay for s/h.
Been given gooseberries. Made jam *drip* Am now going to have to check shed for jam jars as I'm all out in the house. And I am not missing out on bramble jelly this year.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I have a Janome machine (from JL) seems fairly basic in terms of stitches available, but has been an absolute work horse for me over the last 15 years. It's about to start it's second round of curtains for the house, and still going strong, but just typing this has made me realise it perhaps needs a service before I do start on the new curtains.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Singer, Brother and Toshiba spares are usually carried by all sewing machine repair shops. I'd also look at Freecycle just in case there's one where somebody bought one and never took it out of the box.
I have a machine that has barely been used - it's got more than enough features, in that it can do double seams, zig zag and normal stitching. I will not be putting zips in anything or making buttonholes if I ever have something to do with it. There are a load of other stitches, but seeing as I have to remind myself every single time how to thread the blasted thing, I doubt I'll be using them.
What I really want is a knitting machine. I learned to use the things when I was a kid and took to them like a duck to water - but the only ones I've seen have been insane amounts of money and look next to useless/fragile/not enough stitches for anything useful. And I'd need all the extra gubbins that nobody seems to supply, like the multiple stitch 'lifters' and grabby clips for cabling and the wool winder.
I am, however, feeling worse than in the middle of the day. It's no cooler, and the 2 minutes of rain did nothing except make it feel even worse.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I actually can't see properly - hay fever eyes
I will attempt the list in the ,orning when, hopefully it will have cooled down and i can see. the promised rain here never cameDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all. Another one here struggling with hay fever eyes, an eye wash did help.
I'm happy just to go with repeating yesterday's list, but have phone call and admin to do again today. Lots of council stuff too.
Already at first shift of paid stuff but the computer says 'no' which is why I'm on here.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Fridays list, such as it is, is up. Basically damage limitation.
It is cooler, but not, unfortunately, fresher
