    Morning

Oh look, it's only going to be 26 (if there is a degree symbol on this keyboard I can't find it - but I have found a key with an aeroplane symbol on it! What's that all about?). With showers. Great - so it's still hot, but you're gambling if you hang out any washing. My cup runneth over!

Guess who has not had enough sleep :rotfl: and micro-seconds after I do wake up a BIG BD sits on me :(

    My goals for today are:
    1. Pack a bag for the cs
    2. WUDUPA one bowl of pots.

That'll be two tiny steps nearer a clearer kitchen!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

Started early at the paid stuff again, taking a short break for a cuppa now, cooler but not fresher here too... office still feels like a sauna!

Have the conservatory doors open so have just done a quick vac of the downstairs, also did s/s of the en suite while I was in there earlier.

I do have a couple of errands to run, must try and get out in a bit and do them,

Back to work now, I really am going to finish early today!

Have a good day all x

Cooler here, the workmen are back at my neighbours, they didn't arrive yesterday, I don't blame them.

A slight rain over night here as my car has water on the roof,
It seems there were major stoms / lightening etc over Norwich and Norfolk last night, some of the photos I've just seen are very dramatic.

    Kitchen is sorted
I have a letter to post so may walk to town with it to get my step in.

I've got ten questions left and once I've got the wretched pass mark, I am going to absolutely rip into how utterly awful their teaching materials are and how when part of the test is about considering accessibility, why had they never considered using something that could be read by screen readers if a picture or two is so impossible for them.

Good. Some websites are such a nightmare to read I can't believe they even exist. You full on should just about get the message across!!

Kazwookie, whatever you get you're going to need somewhere or someone to service a sewing machine. Those people are rare.

The degree symbol is Alt and 0176; the aeroplane symbol is for 'Areoplane mode' - useful if you fly and want to work on your computer while on board; not much use for landlubbers as far as I can tell!

I'm sorry to say that the weather here, while hot, has also often been cloudy and breezey, so we're having a better time of it than most people. Layla's been sunbathing, the only dog we've ever had who likes the sundeck and flops out there toasting herself when the sun's at its hottest, and the kittens are in heaven. Sorry.

I've just re-organised the freezer because I need to ram a load more fish in there. It beeped quite a bit but that can't be helped. I've got two puddings to make for a lunch tomorrow, one of which is already done and the chocolate mousse involves no heat at all apart from a bit of microwaving to melt the chocolate.

The Useful Bloke says the WM's bearings are on their way out, and that he can't find the leak. It's paid for itself, it's time for it to go so I'll carry on washing by hand and take everything to the laundrette if necessary next week. I'm so glad it was all up to date when I realised it needed a bit of Useful Bloke attention.
    Better is good enough.

I'm still here! Early start for me this am, but done my flying this afternoon so have kept up all week!! Didn't think I'd be able to do that. No housework to do this weekend

    I'll be back Monday

    Have a great one

  • By comparison, it's cooler now, but it's still 28 degrees, just a bit grey with it.

I have cleared the countertop and scrubbed it and tiles,
Emptied the veggie bowl, cleaned and replaced minus sprouting onions, which are now sitting in the garden to do their thing (or not, then they'll be compost),
    Scrubbed the sink and drainer,
    Degunked the plughole,
    Degreased the hob and tiles,
Taken out recycling and two bin loads,
Washed up two bowlfuls ensuring that a) the water was hot rather than barely lukewarm, b) it was clean water and c) that the washing up liquid was rinsed off as I'm sick of soap flavoured tea.

Still got a bunch of things to do, but it's more than I've done for a while and I'll do some more after a cuppa.

Work finished now till next week. I did essential home admin earlier but the council stuff will have to wait until tomorrow. We have dd and dsil coming round for dinner tonight.

  • Right;

    Appliances cleaned.
Another bowl of washing up done. One is sitting [strike]for Himself to do because I've had enough[/strike] to soak for a bit.
    Cups are bleaching.
Showerroom tiles degrotted. Seems that isn't included when somebody says he's cleaned it. I might have got myself soaked by thinking 'oh, wouldn't it be a great idea to use the showerhead to rinse the tiles?' not realising that the water people have obviously upgraded something since the bunch of houses were built that came directly off our mains and stopped our toilet from refilling and the boiler from working properly. Let's just say the pressure was somewhat *improved* since I last used that one.
Loo cleaned and descaler dumped down it.
    Sink, shelf and mirror cleaned.
Cleaning supplies split up for the upstairs bathroom and left on the stairs for Himself to take up.
Bathroom cleaning supplies taken upstairs when he didn't notice them.

Just been told the old WM won't be taken away until next Wednesday because he didn't book it for this morning in case it was too hot to move it outside for collection.

Great. So where exactly will we be keeping this? In front of the telly or in front of the front door? At least we'll have a load of cardboard to put underneath to save the flooring, I suppose. But I'm beginning to wish that I'd placed the order, as I'd have got them to take the old one away rather than risk the council not turning up.

Oh well, at least the kitchen and bathroom look cleaner.

After all the morning activities yesterday, the rest of the day - having reached 36degrees - was spent aimlessly wandering to find comfort with a thumping head and itchy eyes. Baffled by last week's optician telling me I had no signs of hay fever so I shouldn't be using Optichrom eye drops, nor were my eyes dry so I didn't need the expensive hydration drops recommended by last year's optician. So I wandered round clawing my eyes out.

However, today was cooler with some welcome downpour.
    - went to aqua aerobics
    - did a bit of lounge tidying and dusting
    - made up a couple of flower arrangements with some lovely sunflowers a friend sent me
    - culled more emails
    - watered greenhouse
    - picked some tomatoes, purple climbing beans and runner beans
    - took MIL out for coffee. She wasn't in a good mood!
    - got a couple of reduced price t shirts I needed
    - bought some eye wash! And fruit
    - went to MILs flat and emptied all antique spice jars (2008 many of them, thought we'd kept track of that!), emptied remaining food cupboard
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Morning all. Hope you're all ok.

The dogs are away this weekend so I thought I might have a lie in but a bird flew in to the bedroom so that's put paid to that.

And it's pouring with rain here.

Actually, I'm going back to bed for a while. Catch you all later.
