£5.14 on some small groceries.
Usually I make 3-4 batch meals a week and alternate between it all but tbh can't be bothered cooking that much this week... lasagne for tea the rest of the week it is :rotfl: it is yummy though
My friend received the gin I won from a competition so that's good.
In other news, my mum transferred me money from her house sale from earlier this year. It's a 4 figure sum of money. I've looked into different investment and saving options and looked into changing banks to get the best of this but nothing really suits for me. All the banks I want to swap to need you to input a higher monthly wage than I earn. Honestly sometimes feels like you have to earn more to get more for your money. I already have a help2buy and a monthly saver and I can't afford to put the money away for more than maybe 2 years. I'll need to use some of it for a new car at some point in the next year, 2 if I'm lucky, but want to save the rest towards a deposit or any other future needs. Any ideas where to put it some of it?
Also in other news, I have asked my HR department to start my pension from next pay day as apparently they only start it after the 3rd month automatically unless you ask for it. So waiting a reply for that then I can create a more accurate SOA starting next month. I have been trying to get my pensions put into one pension but one of them from years ago hasn't had proof that I left ... 3 years ago ... so haven't sent my pension fund over. Not that I have much pension to speak of but would like to get them all together and see how much (little) I have and start making chances to it.
Still haven't seen a pesky silverfish since... touch wood.

Happy December everyone!!
Spent time at bfs this weekend - he had been out the night before so we relaxed watching TV and cooked together.
Arrived home and my neighbour had a package for me - I got some waterproof trainers from adidas which were on sale for black friday. I then searched the internet for an extra 30% off so got them reduced from £84.95 to £41.63 saving me £43.32 :j I also spent the rest of my superdry voucher (plus 1p ) on jeans and socks. This receiving parcels thing is addictive....
Thermostat says 11 degrees! So cosying up at home watching Harry Potter. I do love this time of yearTomorrow I get a lay in too but then it's back to busy busy. 2 more weeks then I'm off work to pamper myself and it being my birthday we're going to the Christmas Market
Checked prolific and have transferred £11.44 into my savings. I just bought milk and a few snacks with bf at the weekend and gave him £2.50 towards that so also £3.86 from grocery leftovers into savings too. Excited because tomorrow if my SO's go through correctly then I should have my emergency fund complete
Must get groceries tomorrow.

Yes that's the emergency fund officially complete!! And some more! First time I've had one!! :j :j :j
£12.25 on groceries plus £10 deposit towards our christmas meal. Strangely happy to put into my entertainment fund because I guess I haven't really treated myself in a while. Mum's birthday gift has been bought for too - I think this weekend I will send off Christmas cards for the kids then that's Christmas done.
Nothing exciting this week. Just work. Life is good

Received an email from my bank to say my savings rate was going from 0.20% to 0.10%... I remembered someone mentioning Marcus accounts on here so I set that up to put my excess savings in. Now all my money is receiving some % on it.
Spent £5 on some household products today, need to get pasta tomorrow too but still well within groceries range.
Paid £2.50 to a friend towards a raffle for charity which I've added to my entertainment fund. Learnt how to do my expenses too for work and it gets paid weekly! I'll have to be v strict with myself and put it straight into savings. Will hopefully get that submitted this week.
Received my final package after my weekend splurge - I really don't understand how I managed to get jeans posted through my letter box but a razor and foundation requires a big massive box? Such a waste!! My neighbour took my parcel for me as well as my shoes that arrived at the weekend which was v nice of him.
My boyfriend is working so hard at Uni and the results he's getting is really good. I'm v proud of him. I'm busy too so it's hard for me to remind him of that. 1 more week to go and we can spend time together without obligations.

I think you are doing really well. Working full time and also making sure you move your money around so it earns the best interest rate. Make sure boyfriend is appreciating you and have a lovely weekend.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Aww, he is! He's just really busy with exam season. I'm not sure I'll see him this weekend as he is busy and I don't want to overwork him.
I treated myself to my pre-planned hot chocolate at costa today.... for £3.80?!?! and £1 of that was on disgusting marshmallows and creams. Yuck!! I also naughtily spent £10 on lotto yesterday, I usually do lotto when my mood is low but I haven't for a few months now so I'll let myself off. Then I went to asda to buy some expensive lightbulbs because my idiot head didn't realise the reason other bulbs didn't fit was because there was still half of the old bulb stuck there! Idiot! I now have light in my kitchen after weeks of using the light in the oven......... :rotfl: clearly these early mornings are doing me no good.
One more week then I'm off for a week. There are other agencies joining my office in the New Year so I'll be less lonely (will have someone to eat lunch with instead of awkwardly sitting in the staff room wearing a different uniform to everyone else...) and I'll have direct links to the agencies my clients are likely to need!! So it's quite exciting really. Friday I have my staff lunch night out which will be a nice end to my week. Must book my hair and eyebrow appointment next week too. I know my hair is getting too long when the fringe starts getting stuck in my glasses - ouch!
Posting cards for family tomorrow then sorting money with my mum and Christmas is officially sorted. Will also need to get some petrol.

Well v quiet weekend - boyfriend slept ALL!! Saturday after pulling all-nighters to get his work done. Next weekend my friends bf birthday too so I'm heading out, not sure if bf will come or not as he does have an exam Monday and I'd rather he focuses on that but I'll still go out. Then I'm off the following week yay :j
Sent away cards for christmas and sent my mum money so all sorted for Christmas. Will sort pampering out tomorrow hopefully. Spent £6.17 on the weekend on cheap takeout foods and snacks this weekend, boredom is really expensive! Still within budget thoughThere's no point put any excess from groceries or entertainment to my savings accounts as I actually have a higher interest rate on my current account now with vantage. I don't quite like having so much money in the current account though. I'll need to monitor this.
Payday in 5 days I think as it lands on a Sunday and hopefully my pension will have started. Been trying to consolidate my other pensions for ages. That's something that's on my list to chase up but I'll probably wait until the New Year. Once I see my wage in full hopefully this month, I'll create a new SOA and look back on my goals achieved and goals going forward.

Great idea to send your Christmas cards. You've just reminded me to start mine maybe tonight a few at a time. Your food bill is phenomenal I don't know how you eat so little but maybe that's why I am getting podgy.lol.
5 days till payday. Hurrah then you will have a whole week off. Wonderful. I hope the weather is ok by you it is v stormy here. Enjoy tonight.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I used to spend around £150 a month on groceries now I spend less than £100 most the time! Tbf I'm not a huge eater anyway but it has been reduced from shopping at Aldi and batch cooking. Even now with a bigger wage I don't spend more. I get bored with eating to be honest so it's really just to keep me going through the day. I do enjoy going out to eat for the socialising part and also because I don't really have hobbies or anything I like to spend money on so it makes me feel like I'm treating myself lol.
Very cold here and it was raining yesterday. I used the tumble drier as a treat and omg!! it warmed up the whole house and everything was so soft. I think I'm going to continue using it throughout this winter. Having a bit more money really does help, it makes things easier and more convenient. It's v nice to be in this position compared to when I started this diary and was on much lower pay.
£5 cashed out from prolific and £13.04 spent on some grocery shopping. Will need a little more through the week and then meal out FridayBooked my eyebrow appointment with a 60p deposit for next Wednesday and will book my haircut tomorrow!
