  • So today was meant to be quite productive - screened out of either 9 or 10 surveys in the last hour or so!
Pots have been done only to find Mr Socks pots in the living room  - not as mad as that but you know :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So i thought i'd pop in and post a task i'll complete to jolly me along a little.
2 bags in the room of doom to be emptied, homes found for contents and then my reward will be popping back here for an update and posting next planned task :D
Also decided going to start running again next week, gym didn't bother replying - will don sneakers and hit the road - much needed exercise, health time for body and mind - what's not to love when you need to set your alarm for 5am - hello Wednesday i'm looking at you :D Good thing i like running isn't it - well, when i'm fit and can do it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Well most things have been found homes - couple of things i can't get into their homes until other stuff is moved :o but it is progress

Next job - clear 1 bag - don't know why i called last one room of doom - at the moment that is every room here :o oh well... onwards

So clear 1 bag and clear and re-do top of bedside cabinet. Little look round here first and then back to it - work and rewards to get me through the day :D it is going to be an overall lazy ones but mind settling into plans for me and us - like the running - alarm is set :T small list of plans for next year being formed :T

  • Well I've not done the bag yet

i wanted to pop in and confess before i was too shame faced to do so :o

Bedside cabinet currently has on it 100 books :eek::eek: These are not books i've read or am intending to keep  but are all patiently waiting to be read

Some are novels, some poems, some comics, some reference books, some about running / training for specific runs, some manga, some self-help. 100. That is only the bedside cabinet. I would declare i wouldn't buy any more but some of these were gifted, others 10p / 20p for charity, others i found and they spoke to me :o So there we have it. i counted them as i popped them back. I'd best get reading faster than i currently am then - maybe a few quick wins on the comics next? :rotfl: i tend to read what i'm in the mood for at the time though. Something to fill a need i guess.

Ok need to do the bag next then i can catch up with diaries and declare the next 2 areas where i will take action...

& probably need to then fess up to more books uncovered :o

  • 3 items identified for the bay - tried on and just not 'me' any more. good makes though so may sell - although i'm not sure how well clothes go these days? Actually, just found same item as one of mine on there, low price and no interest.. what to do...

break time now - late lunch is on, as is the washing machine. I needed today / tomorrow just to re-group myself, i think, and start tackling this backlog of things at home too. good to be sorting and moving things. Will have a lovely wardrobe of clothes when i can fit back into things :o Running will help with that. And then i can part with the bigger sized things I've had to buy so i actually have something i can wear. The weight will go - positive thinking ;)

Next jobs - top of chest of drawers and... you guessed it... another bag

i think i need to try something different too - i am going to try and hold off on lots of things and just do 1 thing for a while. At the moment this is running. It won't just be one thing, obviously, because coupled with running will be drinking more water - i always run better when i do this - and earlier nights where possible. The 5am alarm will need me to get up. ok, i don't like the idea of getting up at 5am but once i'm running / done the run; i feel so much better for it. I'll need to make sure my watch running monitor is charges today

Time to start thinking of what i want to achieve (other than health benefits). Ultimate target is consistently run 7 miles - this is 3 times a week and a longer run of half marathon each week. long term goals but i'm happy running, i'm happy after running, i'm happy working towards something :T Good decision today :D

  • A bit more has been achieved and identified a couple of needs - other than the need to read lot of books :rotfl: So i'll be on the lookout to pick up these things second hand.

Also sold several books :T & identified a couple more clothing items to part with :T

I realised with some of the books such as self-help / self-improvement and reference books i won't be parting with these so whilst my piles of books will dwindle they won't entirely disappear.

I am really going to try and stop going in charity shops for a good while now :o But the stalls i see set up on the odd occasion with books 10p or 20p i know i won't be able to pass up - especially if they have books i've been looking for.

Anyway - i need to get reading as i don't want to move all these books with me :rotfl:

I feel good about making the decision about running, i also feel good about sorting a few things out - not enough things but it's a start. These things are helping me feel calmer about upset which has been caused to me - well, that and the fact i don't have anyone screaming down the phone at me just at the moment :(

I'm going to make myself a cheery cheap tea which i think will also help :)

Wow. Over 100 books! That is a lot of reading time. Will you need to schedule reading time to ensure you get through them? For example, half an hour as you cool down after your run you can read?

Sounds good with the plan of action, finding homes for things, emptying bags and selling items of clothing. It is good to have a plan. Without a plan there can be no success.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Hi Stripey - sorry I'd missed your updates. I forget who is on the DFW board and who is on MFW. Good that you are doing lots of running. I can relate to the books. I now try to use k1ndle where possible and usually sign up to the unlimited so I can get lots of books free. I also recently sold some books online to MM and gave a similar amount to charity. The house feels lighter for it. We still have hundreds of books left though - so need to keep chipping away at them here too. We have boxes in the loft, garage and shed as well as several bookcases. Like you, there's some I expect to keep - but if I've stopped re-reading them regularly - I need to let them go...

Hi Tahlullah, thank you for stopping by :) I'll be running before the long drive to work so will be up & dressed / feed cats/ run / shower/dress for work / put packed lunch into bag / drive to work. Reading is at night / weekends / when travelling to holiday - i do already read alot but that 100 books was just what is on the cabinet - not what is stacked and stashed everywhere else. Going to actually try not to look with too much interest at the 10 / 20p ones - if it's a book i collect then fair enough.
All the above things i've been intending to do, it's just a time and energy factor. I will do a little more today as well :)

The ones i intend to keep are the funnies - comic / coffee table type books - and i don't have many. Possible the mindfulness and other self-improvement books and reference.
Running commences Wednesday both  - the fear and :D - the excitement :rotfl:

  • So i am a little tired and run down today. Underlying health issue and recent emotional upset are somewhat draining. Still, i'm going to push through and do a bit more today, after coffee :coffee:

Finished a book in bed this morning :T excited to choose next one, will see what my heart feels like - there is one i fancy so probably that - looks to be about 1000 pages - a quick win there then :rotfl:

Pots to wash, washing to move and a new load of washing to go on. I then pledge here to clear 2 bags!

The bag issue - i sound like a real bag lady so will perhaps need to explain where they've come from. I can often be rushing in only to be going out again in the next 15 minutes - can't be later or i'll miss my lift so any bags (usually full of exciting second-hand finds or books) are duly dumped to be sorted later - except in this cycle of rushingaboutness free time later doesn't seem to arrive. Other bags accumulate as a quick fix on tidying things away. I feel like i'd benefit from a weeks staycation. However, not enough holidays from work for this - we save holidays for time off at Christmas, which i much prefer as i have had jobs where i've needed to work all over the festive season. So i'm happy with this :D And, like many of us working, i have appointments i need to attend for check-ups etc and so the holidays are needed.

Right, a quick read here and then i'll be back later with an update :)

  • hello all - well despite the best of intentions my weekend didn't go as planned. Hey ho. Still here. Still tired :rotfl: But now i really must get on and do things.

Currently updating spending diary which is a nice nudge for me to pop back in here.

waiting for wages to hit the bank and then i can start seeing how my budget and income meet.

Hope all are well and enjoyed the long weekend - a busy long week in work for me this week - i do so many hours a week on the days they need me. It balances out in the month to the hours i'm contracted to and i mostly know in advance what my hours will be. Sadly, no chance of any overtime or any increased hours (to full time).

Will be pondering this some more - have done lots of thinking and soul searching on this one - like any jobs there are pros and cons.

forgot to organise tea for today so i best get on and do that.
