Thank you Tahlullah and Savings :kisses3:
Well getting back on posting took a lot longer than i thought it would.
I have done quite a bit of cooking this weekend to make sure we have some quick and easy meals available and it is good to use up things so nothing goes to waste. I have also sorted out the freezer and it feels good to be in control of at least one small thingFull inventory written out :T
I went to the bank and paid in all the cash i had - including bits of coins. This is all going towards the £1,500 bill - I haven't overpaid on the mortgageand i've not been able to focus on the target in my sig whilst dealing with this.
I went to the supermarket and spent less than the coins i'd paid in to buy the food we needed. From now until the end of the year I'm trying to use what we have and only buy what is absolutely a need. I do struggle with this as i find it hard to leave bargains behind as i don't often see themBut i shall try and continue to focus on this.
i've picked up a couple of shops to do although it will be several weeks before the payment materialises for these.
I have a couple of clothing items i can try and list on the bay as well as some books i can try and sell - this will clear things out as well as, hopefully, generate some income. If they don't sell then they can go to CS.
I've been thinking i'd really like some time off work just to collect myself together, get things done and renew my focus. Unfortunately i just don't have enough holidays to do this. Plus, i will be needed to take family to appointments so i really need to save my holidays for this. Wishful thinking i suppose.
Ok, i need to wash, dry and move pots, strip chicken, do washing, dry and move and go through post.
I should plan out spends needed for this month1st May 2025

However dis-organised you may feel because of the left of field shocks, you are doing great. You haven't given up. You haven't folded. Instead, you have regrouped and have an aim, a goal to still get from A to B, by whatever circular route it may take. This is great. So sell what you can, ensure you don't spend un-necessarily and keep planning! You are in charge and on a roll! What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Thank you Tahlullah
Exhausted and didn't achieve most of my list for yesterday and today - washing needs to be done but the rain has been putting me off - that and the endless drying& of course, the tiredness
Finished work-work for this week - couple of shops to do. I've sold a few books but after sorting that found a couple more - just not up to the level they pay out on yet so i'll need to try some others too.
Called into the shop yesterday and bought a couple of things off my shopping list and for less than usual so that was good. Paid with change to keep the bank account in tact. Unfortunately balance won't remain fixed due to petrol and other shopping needed. Still, no unnecessary spending so far. I don't want to wish my life away but currently looking at the date and days until payday and whirling in my head is what will go out / come in / how much i can pay off the bill.
Screened out of a survey too. Early night for me i think and then a very busy weekend ahead so i will try and manage all i can.1st May 2025

I cancelled all plans for this morning as I am absolutely exhausted and have paid for tickets to an event tonight so can't miss out on that.
This reminds me project me needs to get underway - i need to be healthy and have energy for me and to support others. Updated sig and completed a couple of surveys.

Where do you sell your books? As my name implies, avid reader over here :j but haven't found a good place for re-sale as P&P can mean the bay isn't the best. Tips welcome!StripeyTightsSpottySocks wrote: »A bit more has been achieved and identified a couple of needs - other than the need to read lot of books :rotfl: So i'll be on the lookout to pick up these things second hand.
Also sold several books :T & identified a couple more clothing items to part with :T
I realised with some of the books such as self-help / self-improvement and reference books i won't be parting with these so whilst my piles of books will dwindle they won't entirely disappear.
I am really going to try and stop going in charity shops for a good while nowBut the stalls i see set up on the odd occasion with books 10p or 20p i know i won't be able to pass up - especially if they have books i've been looking for.
Anyway - i need to get reading as i don't want to move all these books with me :rotfl:
I feel good about making the decision about running, i also feel good about sorting a few things out - not enough things but it's a start. These things are helping me feel calmer about upset which has been caused to me - well, that and the fact i don't have anyone screaming down the phone at me just at the moment
I'm going to make myself a cheery cheap tea which i think will also help0 -
Thank you savings
Hello BookGeek - unfortunately I don't have a good place to re-sell books - i look at where has been recommended on here and try and send off a box - minimum box value is £5 and the books i'm selling are going for pennies mostly. I do this more to declutter and think any amount is better than none for me.1st May 2025
