Hi VF, you have been a really busy bee, and made great headways with your savings! Impressive!
With regards to Annoying co-worker, I would be tempted to tell your boss that unless something changes, you may be forced to look for other work. It is quite literally a managers job to manage their staff, and I doubt they would want to lose you!
Hope you have a great week off!

Thanks for visiting, Jodles
We'll see how things are when I get back. Am trying to so hard to not get worked up about it anymore, as my stress levels were way too high
Yesterday was reasonably productive, I even managed to go on the treadmill for a smidge over 30mins :j Can't believe it's Wednesday already though.
A little bit more work to be done in the garage today, need to move some stuff around and then sweep it out. Also need to do something about how filthy my car is, there's no good place to wash it at my unit where I live but I think it's beyond the point of being taken though the automatic car cashHoping it will rain and that will get most of the gunk off and then I can take it through the car wash
Need to go to the shops today and buy more chicken, as I when I went to cook dinner last night, the chicken smelled weird so I threw it out. Annoying, as I was hoping to not have to leave the house today. It seems every time I leave, I end up spending money.0 -
Yesterday was a write off, I ended up pretty much in bed all day as I felt awful. My sleep has been terrible, I've been struggling to get to sleep, then I keep waking up, and then the cat gets me up early with her incessant meowing for no good reason
Finally decided to tackle a job that I've been putting off for a while now - changing the tap washers in the shower (taps have been leaking for a few weeks now, oops). Had to go to the hardware store to buy an extra tool, which I didn't end up needing in the end. It was really difficult and I even had a cry out of frustration at one pointbut it's done now and the shower finally works properly.
Must finish off the garage today.0 -
Glad you got a good bonus and some time off. I have never enjoyed working in small companies - so have tended to work in bigger ones - at least there if you don't get on with someone you are less stuck with them.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I hope you're feeling better now. It can take a while to wind down.
Good work on the shower, I would probably not have ventured on it but it shows what you can do! Very MS, which is why you are doing so well on your savings.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you for stopping in, SavingHolmes and Cherry.
Have spent a couple of days doing pretty much nothing and avoiding the shops. Today is my last day off, got to go back to work tomorrowAm determined to have a productive day and be prepared for the week.
Goals for today:
-unpack dishwasher (done!)
-wash sheets (done!)
-wash towels (done!)
-change fish tank water and use it to water garden (let's be real here, it's never going to rain) (done!)
-vacuum and mop (done!)
-tidy whole place and put junk away (done!)0 -
A very productive day was had. All washing done, all junk put away, house is extremely clean. Lunch for the next few days is in the freezer. I even painted my nails.
Am not excited whatsoever to go back to but tomorrow, but oh well.0 -
Hi VF, well done on getting so much done in the house, it's so nice to be able to do it all and then relax.
I don't get the chance to do that anymore!
I'm rubbish at practical things, so well done on fixing the washers in the shower. :T Can you return the extra tool you didn't need or is it worth hanging onto for possible future use?Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Hi Sashy, the shower repair was a task and a half, let me tell you. Unfortunately I can't take the tool back, but it's probably something I'll need at some point in the future, so oh well.
Well Monday is done and dusted. Was a tiring day as was up all night last night having bizarre dreams
MSE efforts today were: took my lunch to work (so didn't drive home), had lamb chop from the freezer for dinner w/ veg - I did not feel like eating that but did it anyway as no point wasting it, will have the other one tomorrow. I even went on the treadmill and have already cleaned the kitchen and packed the dishwasher. Have now planted self on the couch and will not get up until it's time to go to bed.
MSE + Other goals for the working week:
-take lunch to work every day (no driving)
-stick to $75 grocery budget (was going to try and spend grocery store points only but realised this is unrealistic so will spend normal money and earn more points for now)
-don't drive anywhere if I can avoid it (cost of petrol has gone up again)
-go on treadmill at minimum on Tues & Weds night
-keep house tidy/make bed every day0 -
Dear Readers,
I regret to inform you that the budget (and the diet!) have been blown already.
I have just experienced what can only be described as the workday from hell. (Nothing went wrong, just information overload, and I am TIRED). I have purchased mexican takeaway and a block of chocolate on the way home from work. I will try to go to bed early tonight, as sleep is an ongoing issue. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.0
