Yesterday ended up being quite productive. The sun came out so I went for a nice walk. I finished painting a bookshelf that I’d attempted to do a while ago but had run out of enthusiasm. Vacuumed the house, changed the water in the goldfish tank, cleaned out the fridge (had to throw out a lot of things, so now feeling guilty about wasting
)
Today I’d like to clean the bathroom and wash the towels, and perhaps bake a cake of some sort. And go for another walk. It’s so nice to have some time off just to potter around. The weather is so lovely at the moment, which is strange for August, usually it’s windy and miserable. Fingers crossed it keeps up the good behaviour.
Nothing much to report about money related things, I am trying to keep occupied at home so that I don’t end up at the shops.
Am tempted to go and plant stuff in my little container veggie garden because it feels so much like Spring, but might be too early yet. Hmm.0 -
I seem to remember capsicum peppers (bell peppers) can be started early, and I suspect chilli peppers are similar. Could you look into planting these?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Yesterday was not very productive, so hoping that today will be. Time to write a to-do list.
(Will edit this later)
-Shower and get ready (done)
-Tidy and clean bathroom (done)
-Wash towels (done)
-Wash a load of my clothes (done)
-Grocery shopping (nope, but did it the next day)
-Make bed and tidy bedroom (done)
-Vacuum and mop (done)
-Bake a cake (nope)
-Spend time in garden/plant seeds (nope)
-Put new curtains up (done)
I’ve got a friend coming over for dinner, so hopefully that will give me enough motivation to get my house in order.0 -
Can’t believe it’s Monday again
I have no more annual leave booked for the year (except for Christmas )
Woke up super early as MrVF was up and then the cat came in and started knocking stuff into the floor.
We went for a Sunday drive yesterday in MrVF’s new car, was really nice to get out of town. I grew up on a farm and really miss it, I wish we could move out of town but MrVF is not a fan of rural living
Spendings are on track. I’ve got $97 of my spending money left to last until payday (8 days) and we went grocery shopping yesterday and still have $90-something left in the grocery budget.
Filled up my car yesterday and had a 10c p/L off voucher so saved $3.65 :j. Am feeling rather smug about that.
Setting some small goals for the work-week, to keep myself on track, will update on Friday
-Go on the treadmill at least 4 times
-Cook at home every night (no takeaway)
-Take my lunch to work every day (no driving, no takeaway)
-Make the bed every morning
Off to go and get ready for work now. Fingers crossed I have a good email from my boss re. the study that I asked him about.0 -

That's a cent for every day of the year, all in one go. )

So my Boss said he needs some time to think about my request to do the study. I suppose that’s better than a “no”. There is a lot going on at work right now, so I’m happy to not have to start studying and not pay anything yet.
One day of work and my tiredness is back in full force. Must remember to take my iron tablet every day
I feel like all I do is whinge lately, but I am so sick of the cold weather. I think it’s contributing to my feeling of fatigue. I didn’t go on the treamill yesterday as I was so tired and freezing cold when I arrived home from work. I had to have a bath just to warm up. Needless to say, I am ready for Spring to come. Must do treadmill tonight.0 -
An update on my weekly goals:
-Go on the treadmill at least 4 times (only did it twice, better than not at all, I suppose)
-Cook at home every night (no takeaway) (did fine all week but we got a certain chicken that comes in a bucket last night)
-Take my lunch to work every day (no driving, no takeaway) (got lunch from the bakery once but it was very cheap, rest of the week was good)
-Make the bed every morning (did it!)
I’d call that mostly successful. I haven’t had a very good week in the emotional sense. There’s something that I don’t really want to mention on here that’s been getting me down. I’m just trying to keep my chin up and get on with it.
Weekend goals:
-vacuum & mop
-wash bedsheets
-wash towels
-do two loads of clothes washing
-clean out laundry + cupboard under kitchen sink
It’s supposed to be really cold and windy all weekendbut at least it’s sunny :j so can get some washing done.
