  • Happy Monday! Glad mine is over!
Work was busy today but it was nice and made the day go quickly. I came home to a lovely surprise, the BF bought a new fridge and dishwasher and somehow managed to get them delivered and installed on the same day. I have no idea how he managed to pull it off but I'm so happy. Am feeling a bit guilty though as last night I threw what can only be described as a Tantrum because I felt that he does no housework, cooking, general life admin etc unless I yell at him to do it. He also did some cleaning and tidying downstairs so our kitchen/living area looks so nice now. I hope that now things are a bit more organised he will try harder to do his fair share of the house chores. I am so pleased with the new fridge, it has an ice and water dispenser whatsy and the door doesn't swing into the wall anymore. No more crappy dishwasher with racks that keep coming off their runners and won't slide in! Yay!

I never could have imagined that appliances would make such a huge difference but it really is so much better. I made dinner tonight and cleaned up so quickly and easily. Seeing downstairs so nice and clean has really lifted my spirits  o:) This was our first dinner with the new meal delivery kit service and it was basic but quite nice. So much easier than having to think of what to make yourself.

In random work related news, my boss has been talking a lot about the "outsourcing admin" thing that we are doing, he said that he wanted to take me to the meetings where they are going to discuss everything but the higher-ups told him not to bring me because it was more to discuss "business strategies" or something (it's a bit confusing how the business works, it's kind of like a franchise, I work for one guy but someone else makes the rules). I didn't really want to go anyway but it does annoy me that us "lowly" employees are being excluded despite the fact that we are the ones who actually know how everything works. Oh well, I suppose I'll just wait and see what happens. I'm a little bit wary of job insecurity because this will take away about 50% of my work, but also not because I think my boss needs someone to run the office day-to-day and will probably try and keep me for that reason. There's other people in the business that I could do some work for - not sure how that would work or who will pay me but it keeps getting mentioned so I suppose that's what I'll be doing. I don't really care to be honest, as long as I can keep working in the office on my own with no Annoying Coworkers, I will be happy.

Hello poor, sad, neglected diary 😟
I have once again taken a long hiatus. I am just popping in here with a short update and I plan to make a new diary because this one is cursed!

Life has been very busy lately. I have FINALLY finished my diploma course a couple of weeks ago. The last subject was really hard and almost sent me round the twist. In hindsight I don't really know why I struggled so much, I think it was just because I was really stressed and frazzled and couldn't think straight! The last few months has been really full on, the admin outsourcing at work has gone really well and I've had a big promotion in my role and have taken on some much higher level work which I am enjoying a lot more than what I used to do. Combined with the study and other life stressors it really was a bit too much. Anyway, things have calmed down a lot now and I am really feeling a lot better about life.

I have just started a postgraduate course which the boss has agreed to pay for half of. Yay! Even though this course is supposed to be more difficult than the last one, the assignments seem a lot more manageable because they are broken up into smaller pieces. I also plan to be a lot better with time management this time around so that should really help.

And you won't believe this, but the apartment is still. not. rented. out. But it will be soon. I've got the professional cleaners coming on Monday to sort it out and then it will be listed with a real estate agency. What a process. Never again. It should be worth it though because rents are quite high here at the moment so it should rent for a decent amount.

Anywho, that's all for now, I'm off to start my new diary ☺️. I'll pop back in and post the link for anyone who wants to follow along.

Congrats on completing your diploma and getting the promotion! Even better that the new job is better suited to you.

The post grad will be interesting and who knows how high you'll fly after that!

We are in the process of getting a flat ready to rent out too - it's amazing how much preparation that entails. It would have been simpler by far to sell it but it was my father in law's and in a retirement building which has created complications. Looks as though we have a tenant all ready to move in but the leasehold company have been dragging their heels... *sigh*.

I'm looking forward to the new diary - is this to celebrate the new stage in your life?
