Welcome back! Building and decorating are always so disruptive, as is being away from home. I hope you soon feel settled in again and things are back where they should be.
Well done on your review and paid study days.
Enjoy the dinner!

Happy Tuesday everyone! If there even is such a thing
I had a productive weekend and my house is now clean and tidy for the most part. Can't say the same for the garage but that is to be expected. I have had a heck of a week so far. Work has been challenging as I have been thrown in the deep end with the new tasks that have been expected of me and have had no proper training so am figuring it out myself.
In good news, I am submitting my assignments for my 4th subject this afternoon. Fingers crossed I pass and don't need to re-submit anything. I have 4 more subjects to go and am hoping the next two will be easier and faster as they are exam-based and no assignments. I must say that working full-time and studying at the same time is challenging especially when work is ever-changing and you also decide take on extra silly things like home renovations at the same time. My brain is fried!
Last week I managed to exercise 5 days of the week, so I am hoping to keep that up this week too. I went for a walk with a friend yesterday and I will go on the treadmill after work tonight.6 -
Good news:
- I passed my subject!
- My new couch is getting delivered on Saturday. And my friend is coming to do some tiling and put up some shelving in the kitchen.
- I have gone on the treadmill every day this week so far.
- I have ordered my groceries online for pick up tomorrow.
- I successfully completed the first two of my new tasks at work (without proper training - see below)
- I am in the office on my own tomorrow so no one can annoy me
- I can't get the training guy at work to give me any actual training despite sending him at least 4 emails. He has signed me up to a different training thing so he definitely knows that I exist. This is not the first time he's acted like an incompetent weirdo
. Am starting to get cranky and want to dob him in and get him in trouble but that would be 'mean'.
- I am deathly tired after experiencing terrible insomnia last night. If I don't sleep properly tonight I will scream.
- My chocolate addiction is back with a vengeance (did it ever really leave?
)
- I was going to put on a load of washing but alas, I am too lazy
I am going to have to be very careful with money for the next few months. My bank account is looking quite dismal and I still have so many things to pay for. I am saving to buy a desktop computer for my study next year, I need to pay for my university courses up front (no loans for me!) and there's still quite a few things that need to be done in my house. It is all do-able, but seeing the state of my bank account has put the fear in me. I will need to be really conscious about what I buy and try to save some of my usual spending money to put towards the new computer as the money can't really come from anywhere else. Luckily I have plenty of summer clothes so should be able to avoid the shops for the most part, although I will need a few things to wear to work. And then there's Christmas to contend with. And I have a kitchen loan to pay off. Ugh!
I just can't wait for the kitchen renovation to be fully finished so I can pay the last of the tradesmen and then I will know the true state of my bank account.

Perhaps the thing is to remember that the money will be there eventually but it's amazing how much you can do with focus! It might mean taking your own sandwiches and coffee everywhere but if that's what it takes, you can do it.
Lovely that you have your home nice again. I bet you feel a whole lot better for it!

Why would it be mean to complain about the training guy?
You are trying to do a lot so I'm not surprised you've got the fear. I get the fear and I try to do very little! You plotted this out before, plot it out now and see how you will be able to cope. You can do this.5 -

Another semi-productive weekend finished. My friend did the tiles and shelves on Saturday, now they just need to be grouted (he will do some time during the week hopefully). Sunday I spent cleaning tile dust out of the house and doing the usual washing and cleaning tasks. BF helped me by cleaning out the garage (was full of sawdust and rubbish from the renovating). My new couch was delivered
. It is very nice. Old couch has been shoved in the garage ready for friends to come and take it.
The training guy at work finally got back to me and we have organised some training this afternoon. Hopefully now I will be able to do my new tasks with more confidence and that will relieve some stress.I have a hair appointment tonight after work. It will be expensive but at least my regrowth will be gone!In other news, my plumber has ghosted me. I am yet to pay his invoice so he can ignore me as much as he likes. I’m not paying him until it’s fixed3 -
Another brain-frying day at work, but all is good. I am starting to feel more comfortable with my tasks. I finally got some training with The Training Guy which ended up being fairly useless but never mind.
I must say that I am feeling much better now than I was a few weeks ago. Living in my own house, eating proper food, getting exercise and maintaining a more organised life has done wonders. My mental clarity is also much better and I feel like I can actually think straight now.
I have had a productive day. I did my time on the treadmill and have put in my grocery order for pickup tomorrow. Yay!4 -
I get the impression you aren't impressed with The Training Guy!
It's good to hear you sounding more upbeat. Springtime helps, as well as all the things you've mentioned. Two years ago this month I was in Australia admiring the daffodils - I wonder how the bulbs adapted to blooming in what they must have initially thought was autumn! I haven't been in Australia at any other season but I'd chose spring again, it was beautiful.
Well done for getting on the treadmill too. You seem to fit a lot into your life!
