Paid stuff all done for the week. Now I need to tackle the house so that it is all nice and clean to come home to. I want to do a vac and dust of all the rooms, clean bathrooms and kitchen, bins to empty. Then pack a few things for going away in the morning. I want to be all done by 8pm so that I can have a bath and paint my nails.
Righto, music on, windows open, let’s get to it.
Have a lovely evening all. Hugs and GWS vibes to any that need them x0 -
Love and hugs to all.. esp.. LW, Narco, Round and everyone else having a difficult time or missed xx
Thank you pigpen xx And happy birthday to OH for yesterday.
Another week at the paid stuff survived, but without a skerrick of flying doneI made my bed, fed the birds, filled the bird bath and watered the plants every day. Frantically scouring my woolly head for anything else I did that even vaguely resembles flying: sloshed bleach down the loo; recycled a magazine; dropped off a birthday card for friend's daughter's 21st on Wednesday. I could blame Wimbledon for distracting me
but the fact is that I get home and flop whatever the season. Paid stuff isn't physical at all, but mentally draining - and when you add Moaning Myrtle to the mix exhausting. I had an apology at the beginning of the week - apparently MM realised that she had been particularly vile last week. Unfortunately it didn't stop all the complaining, but it was definitely reduced.
WEEKEND now :T Wimbledon Finals, British Grand Prix, Tour de France. Doesn't bode well does it
I sorted Mount Washmore in to loads whilst the kettle was boiling for my cuppa. First load is swishing. I've emptied the bins (living room and kitchen) and put in new bin bags. Full bags are knotted and waiting to be taken out to the dustbin when I'm dressed. It's a start
Love to all. Lots of quiet 'regulars' - if you are reading this: you are missed and we're thinking of you.

Morning
Up washed, dressed.
Toasted eaten
Tidied round
Cat combed last night, no fleas
My houseleeks (outdoors plants) seem to be dying, all of them, they do not look good at all, goodness knows why
Off to walk round a local car boot this morning, then get back home before it becomes traffic silly for the rest of the weekend. Red Arrows due to visit me, at 12 today or thereabouts and again tomorrow for longer
I'll also help out at the tennis this afternoon, for the ladies final.
No doubt I potter around for the afternoon, do the walking I am told to do.

Afternoon all.
Hugs, GWS wishes etc etc all round.
Starting on a plus - scales registered a slinky 5lb lost this morning. I don’t quite believe it but I’m taking the win. Especially as next week will be full on laziness with added food and drink.
DH noticed that none of his ironing was done so decided to tackle his pile this morning after I had done other bits. He had to ask DD how the iron worked....:rotfl:
DD and I had a pleasant afternoon in the university city after a morning at the hospital. Sorry, wanted to share more but flc is eluding me on my phone. Suffice to say, not all is as we might have wished and it is heart in mouth time until we see the consultant next week. The staff were fab though.
I have a list as long as my arm this afternoon to get the house, garden and allotment straight, let’s not even mention packing or emergency fluttering. The poor house is a pit - tatty, cluttered and filthy. Ah well, it will still be there when we get back.0 -
(((Hugs))) Fayolle.
This morning I have mown the lawn, hung out WMx2, and trimmed DH's hair. We're going out tonight and I simply must turn up my "new" trousers which have been sitting on top of the bedroom c-o-d for more weeks than I care to admit.
Also need to
- buy a card
- deliver a (different) card
- deliver photos
-walk Rosie.
It's hot and sticky but looks as if it might rain0 -
One more week to go until the redundancy. I'm not stressing about it as much now, as I have, much to my own surprise, managed to get myself another job starting in September. Feeling harassed with the extra workload in sorting things out for my not being there anymore, but I'm carrying a sick note around from the lovely GP that was issued ten days ago, just in case I get to that 'I'm not doing this anymore' point. But it's been hard these last few weeks - getting through each day has been pretty much all I could handle, going to bed early, not getting involved in housework, decisionmaking about food or anything much.
OH has had a bit of work, but has also received a couple of vague replies/putting forward for the next interview stage.
Still no WM, as his last bit of work still hasn't managed to pay him. Hopefully that'll come through in 8 days and then he can order something. I'm getting a bit fed up of crispy socks and knickers where he hasn't quite managed to rinse them completely.
Slightly unintentional flying today - I had just washed my hair and, as I was broaching the subject of rearranging the bedroom in a couple of weeks with OH, I sat down on the end of the bed. And the wooden strip that the slats rest on collapsed, taking the mattress - and me - with it. Turns out the screws had snapped? The frame is about 15 years old, but I didn't expect the metal bits to give out before the wood.
Anyhow, this meant that the mattress had to come out, along with the topper and bed linen and whilst he was searching for the correct tools to put some replacement screws in, I hoyed out all his boxes of junk from underneath it, evaded the Idiot Cat defending his new and exciting plaything with menaces and moved it around 90 degrees and eight foot along.
After Himself repaired it, I got in there and cleaned sooooo much dust I didn't know was there! It was Awful!, pulled up the rug, vacuumed everywhere and persuaded him to help me shuffle along the vintage dressing table. Anyhow, the final effect is that it all looks airy, slightly more spacious, much cleaner and I think it might work much better. It's also conveniently nearer the window for any hot flushes I might start having, as I'm pretty sure that's not going to be too long now, as I'm already finding hot weather far harder than previously, pouring with sweat just from that activity today.
Idiot Cat has had assorted seeds removed from his personage again (it's a very regular thing at the moment), Grumpy Fluffy Cat has been brushed repeatedly and I am going to have a shower and crash out in the nicely made bed in its new location.
That was not how I had anticipated spending the day, but it's a job we don't have to do in a fortnight now and, as Himself pointed out 'I had said yes to moving things around two seconds before the screws snapped, it's just a bit quicker than I would normally do something'.
Still looking at plants to go in there - not found the right ones yet, and whilst I would love to do it, I can't justify having fresh flowers each week (oh, how I wish I could). But out of the whole house, it does feel like the bedroom and upstairs bathroom are the two rooms where I get to have things exactly as I want. Which is a rather nice feeling.
I'm definitely considering a full on purge of useless gibble over the summer - I've binned two black bags of near rag like clothes today, will be chucking the shoes I've relied upon at this job without hesitation next Friday when I get in and was mentally shopping for new job clothes (no physical labour in this one - and slightly higher pay) and completely new bedlinen, if not a new mattress, as I was repeatedly vacuuming the floor this afternoon.
Missed everybody, hugs, fistbumps, BD sticks galore, wherever needed - I really hope that, for once, things are easing off now. Had the bed gone last week, I'd have probably been in hysterics - but today, well, it's OK.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I've reassessed my 'dailies' list to include some washing and vacuuming, I'm hoping having those things on the list means that the house is always at a 'generally clean' level and as my house is a tiny 2 bed and I'm only washing for me, it shouldn't add too much work.
I'm glad it's not just me roundtuit I'm much more of a morning person and find my energy levels pretty much depleted after a day at work, and I'm also wanting to do some surveys etc after normal work to add a few extra pennies to the pot, so I need to get a bit more routine and try to stay away from the tv (or at least limit my time)
Anyway, washing on at the moment. It's a bit overcast but I'm going to hang it out anyway0 -

Welcome back FrankieM!
Good to see you posting again, Jojo.
This place is a tip because I've either been feeling under the weather or at the festival. Things are now back to almost normal, although I'm pretty sure I've still got an infection near where a tooth was removed last week because the area where one came out this week feels absolutely okay. I need to get that dealt with first thing one way or another on Monday morning. Three weeks of multiple doses of ibuprophen daily can't be good for anyone.
Today I need to crack on and get the worst areas of the house back under control. I can't say they'll be fine even after that but I'm sick of looking at everywhere and thinking, 'I must do that ....'Better is good enough.0 -
So far:
- dog walked twice
- pizza hunter gathered for tonight
- bottom two layers vacuumed sort of properly
- kittens played with and fed

Still to do:
- [STRIKE]stairs and edges of vacuumed areas to be done with handheld and nozzle[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]hob to be cleaned[/STRIKE]
