Ok so Paypal has refused my appeal.

Absolute joke! Half tempted to do a chargeback and let them sing for their money!

    > Out of interest why is it important to keep seller onside?

You just answered your own question.
  • It was Paypal that declined by appeal, not the seller. I was never rude, was factual and honest!

And I paid using debit card through PayPal. Using a credit card through PayPal means I wouldn’t be eligible for chargeback (as that’s debit card only) or section 75.

    From Which.co.uk.

    PayPal and chargeback

Watch out if you use your credit or debit card to load money into your PayPal account or other similar online accounts, as it is the loading of the money that is considered to be the card transaction.

If the money that you load into your account is then subsequently used to buy goods and services, that transaction is not classed as a card transaction and is unlikely to be covered by chargeback.

If you're making a card purchase through PayPal, it's best to empty your PayPal account regularly so there is no credit balance.

That way, when you make a card purchase through PayPal, the same amount will be debited from your bank account or credit card as goes immediately to the seller.

This will make it easier for your bank or credit card provider to match the purchase with the debit.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

  • Yeah I paid directly from my card. No money in my account.

This is my point. I’m lost really. I’m hoping to catch postie in the morning. I’m just hoping they be left it somewhere silly (silly enough they I haven’t even thought of looking there)

It would be better to do as advised by custardy and contact the delivery office.

What kind of seller sends an item of that value without requiring a signature and with adequate insurance cover!

    Madness.
  • Going to the depot in this instance is now pointless. I have appealed and Paypal have refused my appeal.

    Not madness at all.

The seller hasn't lost anything in this case.

Insurance is a risk assessment and a signature is not required in this instance, just a proof of delivery.

So identifying who delivered the item- pointless
Checking the address on the item is correct -pointless
Checking GPS on the item -pointless

  • I raised a claim with PayPal, they said no. I appealed that said no. What else is there to do I can’t continuously ask Paypal to keep looking into it.

The complaint is open with Royal Mail I’ll see what they say and if they provide evidence that supports me I’ll do a chargeback!
