I sent off my acceptance form on the 2nd, I've been paid my usual benefits today but no loan.

Is the DWP phone line just hanging up for anyone else? They say to wait and that they're experiencing a high volume - but no being put on hold, it just beeps for about 30 seconds then hangs up.

    Not very re-assuring.
Have you read through the rest of the thread?

usually it can take 3 weeks to receive the money in your bank once they receive the form. Sending it on the 2nd means it most likely wouldn't have been received for at least 7 working days, possibly longer because backlogs with the mail going to DWP are huge.

It's almost impossible to ring them because like others have said you can't get through.

As i pointed out in a previous comment, you will receive the loan separate to your usually fortnightly payment so it could be anytime. All you can do is wait, i'm afraid.
  • Even basing it on the 2nd and say they received it 4th (the next working day) - allowing 15 working days would take you to the 25th.

As Poppy says though probs took longer than 7 days to receive so your looking at December now.

They are paid anyway so won’t necessarily come with your benefit.

I've had two budgeting loans in the past year (the first was at exactly this time last year) and they both came through with my usual benefits. Maybe not the same for everyone, but it has been that way for me.

Neither time did they make the calls inaccessible by hanging up either, which is why this time seems particularly concerning.

Where have you heard about mail backlogs? 7 days seems a little excessive, do you have any sources or is it hearsay?

Hoping that everyone can get it on time, of course it's a stressful time.

That was last year and this is now. If you read the thread you're not the only one who's been waiting quite some time for the money to go into their bank.

I had my last budgeting loan about 4 months ago and they payment went into my bank on a different day to my usual ESA payment day.

No, i don't have any links to confirm anything about backlogs, not sure why they would announce this anyway. Being a regular poster on the forums, many people have said about the mail backlogs, including DWP advisers when others have rang.

Just answering OP's question and discussing the delays like everyone else in the thread but apparently I'm hijacking it. Okay buddy, I know when I'm not welcome.
  • As I pointed out too, regardless if there are backlogs, even if they did get it the next working day which would of been the 4th, which is still highly unlikely, 15 working dats have not passed, so you shoyldnt be contacting them yet.

The current wait in my area from sending back the acceptance letter to getting the payment is over 3 weeks at the moment so if its the same in your area lunaloomer you are possibly looking at receiving your Budgeting Loan at the end of November / beginning of December.

It's just been a coincidence that your last two loans have arrived in your bank account on the same day as your normal benefit. Budgeting Loans can arrive in a bank account anytime between a Monday and Friday - they go into your account three working days after the payment is authorised / released.

They have backlogs with the mail and it's taking longer than usual to arrive. Even without this a budgeting loan payment can take 3 weeks once they receive the form back. It could be another couple of weeks yet before you receive anything.
