Hi all, I feel like you all know me a little
and you know I'm a woman of few words, but I feel I have to let you know why I'm not around at the minute.
As a family it's been a difficult year or so, and sadly my daughter-in-law passed on Sunday
Chris I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Love to you and your family.Sunshinemummy wrote: »
Thanks, it was a hard decision to make, I have crammed 6 weeks work into 7 working days (and lots of nights/weekends etc)...still not sure I have made the right decision, but the working from home 3 days a week, and lots more pay swayed me....:j
Crikey SSM, that sounds like a win to me. I found working from home didn't suit me so well as I liked to separate home and work as much as possible and I could be very easily distracted, but it was good to have the option.
Weigh in was yet another STS - think my scales must be stuck at 1.5 over target range and like you Maman, I can tell with my tummy, but I haven't had a lovely holiday as an excuse!
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
How much are they bubbs?Sunshinemummy wrote: »I am amazed at home many people do nails (hands and feet)... someone I worked with was ringing trying to get an appointment in a panic.. I encouraged her to just do them herself... she refused on the grounds of long lasting, which resulted in us entering into a little competition, she had her nails done, I did my nails....to see which lasted........ my toe nails were still fine 4 weeks later...... but she had had hers redone at the salon.
She always moans that she has no money, but always walks into the office a costa coffee etc.
Good luck in your new job:D

Evening all,
sorry I've been MIA again. Work is super busy all the time - I try to sneak on to catch up on posts, but often don't quite get fully caught up enough to then post. Have just had a very quick read.
ChrisV I am so sorry to hear your sad news about daughter-in-law. What a dreadful time for your family. Thinking of you all xx
Bubbs glad op went well & that foot/leg is improving too. bummer about having to go back again tho.
Beanie - glad to hear you're still within target range.
Sunshine - good luck with the new job.
Am pleased to report a loss of -2lb this week. That's been a long time coming, but hope that now my back is almost back to normal being able to move around again is helping. OH has been vicariously boasting about my weightloss to his colleagues at work, who he says have all gained a LOT of weight over the past year (it's the work evironment they are in with biscuits, chocolates, and cakes always around to pick at), but he has been telling them about all the lovely food we have been having, so he's tryiing to encourage them to follow SW.
CurlGirl I have had a new lady has started work with me and she is very overweight (I'd guess about 22 stone-ish), and whilst I would never say anything to her unless promted, she has been asking about the food I'm eating. I have suggested SW to her, but she's not got a great deal of £ available, and the weekly membership is too much for her to afford right now. It's quite tough sitting opposite someone who is eating so incredibly badly ALL day. Breakfast is a microwaved bread muffin with melted cheese, followed by a large bag of Haribo, a tube of Pringles, a 6 pack of Skips throughout the day, a microwaved cheeseburger for lunch, and I've no idea what she has at home at night. She also wheels herself to the printer on her chair, rather than take 2 steps to it, and asked was there a trolley in the building to use to put her files on as she didn't want to have to carry them like the rest of us. She's a lovely young lady, but I can really see my younger self in her, and want to say don't do it! Don't keep eating yourself to unhappiness, because I know that's what it did to me. I think it has to be a real attitude and mind-set though for the person embarking on tackling their weightloss journey. I know that last year I wasn't in the right headspace to do it, but this year, despite having a lot of negative stuff going on in my family and work life, it's been more do-able.
I have always felt that the great thing about SW is that it is the perfect plan for people who love to eat food, and can't cope with being deprived of it. That's why its fab for anyone with a big appetite (like me!)One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
