I've been looking at getting some small gold sleepers to leave in, but the reviews all seem rubbish, with them breaking and snapping.
I used to have a lovely pair of hinged ones, ~12mm with a diamond cut pattern on the side...don't know what happened to them? Maybe they broke too.
So, I just have to keep my gold studs handy, and remember to put them in at least once a week. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
Sea_Shell said:Well, our annual usage for 12 months to 1/2/24 was 8456 gas and 1356 electric.
I'll have the 12 months to 1/4/24 on the laptop (I'm on my phone), but they are probably similar.
Anyone beat THOSE (on standard duel fuel, gas boiler, no solar, no EV) 😉
My electric is total 2791, but less 761 for EV (this is only August to 1st Feb because the charger unit was replaced so I don’t have the data before then 😩
My gas is lower at 4728 -

With my tin foil hat on, your supplier could've known you're away on holiday in September!!

Energy Bills - Interesting posts
Gas Annual usage 22750 KwH
Elec Annual Usage 8725 KwH
This has been consistent over the last 4 years or so. Just Me, Wife and son. We must be doing something wrong, although the house is quite big (but modern) and Wife does like to have the temperature v warm. All rooms are temperature controlled by individual thermostat, we have UFH downstairs, a just replaced A rated Gas Boiler. We do not have an EV - no intention of geting one.
I did check out Air Source Heat Pump when the old boiler expired last year, but it didn't make financial sense at all. I would also love Solar PV and Battery - a 10 - 12Kw system would ideal, but again, the overall up front cost is too high.

Just checked, Eon estimate my annual gas usage for the year as 2624 kwh and electric as 1187 kwh.
Do I win a prize?Think first of your goal, then make it happen!1
