Haha, it is well insulated, but I just don't feel the cold.Β I put the heating on when my partner is over, but she is "freezing" even when it is 18c, so we are at opposite ends of the spectrum.OldScientist said:

It is 14c in my living room at the moment and although I don't feel toasty, I don't think it is cold.
I am outdoors a lot, and cycle in all weathers, so when I come in from 5c outside to 15c inside (for instance) it feels like heaven.Β I guess it is just what ever you are used to.ΒThink first of your goal, then make it happen!3 -
When my missus complains I've put the heating on I always refer to the legal lower temperature limit for workplaces, which is 16C. Some things from work do carry over to retirement.

Haha, I'm definitely using that one, thanks!Bravepants said:When my missus complains I've put the heating on I always refer to the legal lower temperature limit for workplaces, which is 16C. Some things from work do carry over to retirement.
I will put the heating on afterwards though, but I just want to see the look on her face first! :Β )Think first of your goal, then make it happen!1 -
In our house, it's the other way round!!Β Β
I'm at the 'hot flush' stage of life and DH has no extra "insulation", so feels the cold. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
End of another month, and things are ticking along.Β Β
Not much to update really, sorry.Β Β
Figures remain "robust", and the plan unchanged. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)5 -
Totally unrelated to retirement but I need to sort out my snoring if possible otherwise OH has said she'll ban me from the main bedroom!0

A CPAP machine will shut you up - see your GP about sleep apnoea. Does she notice you stop breathing at all during the night, then suddenly starting again with a snort? Or the spare room, so you both get a good night's sleep. Much better than being tired and grumpy with each other in the mornings.westv said:Totally unrelated to retirement but I need to sort out my snoring if possible otherwise OH has said she'll ban me from the main bedroom!0 -
I don't think it's apnoea as I've not been told I stop breathing. I actually sleep quite well - apart from when she pokes me. LOL!!1
