It's been a hugely inspring thread to whose who are considering early retirement, particularly those who are happy to live on a low'ish income and value their time more than money.

I think the fact that you could spend more, but choose not to, just does not compute with some people, the sort who think there's a correlation between spending money and happiness, so you get the constant ribbing and even people trying to set you targets for spending! Some people just don't get that spending money on the sort of trivial fluff that they spend money on does not make everyone happy.

But I think you're right, time to close the thread, otherwise we'll be going round in circles. I'm sure your retirement will be a success financially and hope it's a long and happy one. And will see you round on other threads!

The thread doesn't need to be "closed". There will always be something to add to it from someone.

I am saddened, in a very selfish way, that you are choosing not to post your figures in the future I have found them thought provoking and inspiring and your spending attitude is much more relatable than many, I fully understand and support your decision.
