Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
I've already made use of my new 50+ status...and had my flu jab today.
Here's hoping I don't feel like 💩 in a day or two!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)2 -

Well I'm 48 hours post flu jab, and no symptoms, other than a slightly sore arm.
Will decide in the morning whether to go swimming 🏊🏼♀️.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
3 letters from my pension providers (of 4) have hit the mat today, triggered by my now being 50.
All headed along the lines of "it's time to start thinking about your retirement options"
Way ahead of you there guys!!!!
Oh and my arm was fine, so did my usual mile swim yesterday. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)7 -
The 4th letter came on Saturday.
They all handily had updates of the pension pot values on them, up, up, and away.....that shall now be decimated on this weeks markets!!!
Down down, deeper and down.
ETA - What do I know. The markets appear to be bouncing back already from Friday!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

LOL - I'm not looking at my investments until things have settled a bit, no need as I'm not going to change anything anyway.

I wish I could invest more, but I was lucky enough to max out my ISA allowance this year (due to an injury payout.) It is annoying to see the price drop and not be able to buy though.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0

Hi all! I have now been retired, semi-retired or unemployed since April 2019, when I left my last job (to take a few months off!) The squirrelled supply is holding up very well, in fact I am facing the issue of still be reluctant to utilise them. Wanted to change my phone to get one with a better camera and despite being comfortably able to afford a new one, I have bought a refurb. I fear I am a basket case when it comes to spending, too many years squirrelling.
Anyone else got the same problem??
