I only wish I had the time and spare space in my brain to worry about if ASDA is selling out of date gherkins.
Life would be sweeeeet!0 -
Best before not use by so no problem at all, why do you think companies like approved foods do so well and all they sell is food past it’s best before.
ASDA have done nothing wrong.
There was an approved food shop near my work and no-one went in it and it closed about 9 months later, There were crisps 10 months after the BB date, Eaten crisps 6 weeks after at home and they was very little crunch in them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've learnt to look at BB/Use By dates on all produce in our Asda store, and I frequently hand out-of-date items over to staff. I wouldn't mind if they were in the reduced section (aka the "only 10p off because we want to massively discount it once the dayshift ends" section) but I'm finding out of date food on the normal shelves and fridge. Stock rotation must be a mystery to our local Asda.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Not a supermarket. Though it sells ambient food such as tins, packs of biscuits etc - more food at Christmas and Easter - so we reduce items at the beginning of the month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I understand that Asda are not breaking any laws, but many customers refuse to buy out of date food regardless of what it is.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I thought that if shops sold out of date products, consumers must be made aware they were past their BBD?There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

And who can tell whether a gherkin has gone off anyway?0

Asda is probably being patient with the OP. People can get barred from shops less.0
