Do you mind me asking which local authorities you fall under & at what stage you are at with your project matt_richa ?
  • Hi Everyone, has anyone successfully received the or your LABC received the notes from Aedis, so that the reversion application can be completed. I had my final inspection and was awaiting the completion certificate for the loft conversion but then got the news regarding Aedis.
I am also unable to claim my money back from chargeback, as the service was paid more than 120 days.
Information from the administrator regarding claiming money back is negative.
If anyone has had any success kindly let me know please.
  • I fall under Bromley council if that helps
  • Hi,

Sorry, just picking up on this thread. In the same boat as most others. Due a final inspection when aedis went into liquidation. The local council have none of our documents. Where do I start with how to go about getting a completion certificate? Can I obtain any of the aedis notes/inspection data from anywhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi, we luckily took an abundance of photographs throughout our build. Also had a couple of structural engineer diagrams. Some notes did arrive from Aedis to back up these. Council may accept a good range of photos to cover the work carried out,
Have you contacted the Liquidator to get your file. They had to keep it by law? aedis@begbies-traynor.com I also copied in the regulator lwilloughby@cic.org.uk  into my e mails to Begbies

We are now thankfully passed off but also at extra cost paying for Planning inspections again.

Wish you all the very best.
  • Thank you very much for your help. Did you ever try and get your initial money back via charge back? I’m so glad you managed to get your signed off. We have lots of photographs etc too so hoping that might be helpful in getting ours signed off. Looking back on it now, I don’t understand why we weren’t given copies at each inspection stage. I wish o had asked for them!

    Thank you again
  • Sorry, can I also just ask if people managed to get anywhere with the liquidator without having to pay the £150 they have just requested?
    Thanks

Yes we did get the information before that seem to be actioned. I know that they sent the file to the council abeit it only formed a few notes. I have since received an e mail requesting £150 if we wanted the file.

I am not sure what the rules are on this. Seems unfair yes, but perhaps the regulator can help.

Ha we would do things very differently next time that's a fact Glad you have photos they may help even without the notes. Try speaking to your council first before forking out the money.
