Morning all,
Todays list
* usual breakfast arrangements - ds1 ys bread with scrambled eggs, ds2 to free school breakfast club and I've had avacado & egg of ys bread.
* gym session and refilled water bottle there twice.
* called into mr T on the way back, posted an Rm survey item and picked up the few bits ds1 needs for school [STRIKE]cookery [/STRIKE] (no cooking involved!! dessert)
* run the dishwasher on the quick washand empty
* iron the couple of things that need doing before putting all yesterdays washing away
* start filling in my food/exercise diary again as I've got to put more effort into my own health.
* rethink tonights meal as we have an unexpected visitor coming who I know won't eat what I'd planned so will look to swapping todays meal to later in the week.
* check banking/update spreadsheet
* remind ds1 to pay me back
* make families lunches for tomorrow
* check the house for any appliances using energy that don't need to be on. more units used last month and I don't really know why.
* order repeat prescriptions online rather then by phone
* go through hand me down school tshirts/jumpers that I'd kept for ds2 - all ok which means I don't need to spend a fortune before he starts.
* found a couple of suitable cards from our stash that can be used for "Thank you" cards for the school end of the year, just need to get ds2 to write them and I'll drop them in. (early but then its done and out of the way and decluttering in a way!!)
* freeze a small portion of left over chili for a quick and easy meal for dh
* started a bag of school clothes to pass over to a friend with younger kids
* messaged a friend to offer her kids some fancy coloured biros, they've been in my cupboard for years and I've not used them, shes got 3 girls who love writing and drawing so may as well give them to a good home!
Thats my starter, take care all.
ooo Dawn, hope your op went well!! sorry just remembered!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Evening all
I am back from the hospital :T
A bit sore, and can't do anything in the way of driving or lifting for a few weeks (so OH will have to be my driver / fetcher and carrier for my business for a while :rotfl:)
I will need to wait a couple of weeks for test results, but they reckon all is ok and I hopefully won't need further treatment
Not much moneysaving going on but I haven't spent anything either. OH called into the supermarket for sandwiches on the way back because lunchtime had been and gone and we were hungry (normally I would have swerved this, but given the circumstances I didn't argue this time).
Glad to hear you got that child benefit form in La E, will it get backdated to the date of baby's birth?
Hope HK is ok?
Katy Ann, I hope your little one is better now.
Thanks for good wishes 1LL0 -
glad to hear it went well Dawn - speedy recovery x
Not much to share - usual stuff - except I saw some light bulbs for £2.50 in Sains and I grabbed a box as need one for madam's lamp and lightbulbs cost a fortune these days! I spent ages checking out they were the right ones but when I got to the till they came up at £10  so I queried it. Turns out it wasn't the right one but they honored it anyway :money:DF as at 30/12/16
Wombling 2025: £87.12

Thanks for good wishes. Light bulbs are a nightmare to buy, aren't they, with so many different kinds? And yes, they are expensive! I have been gradually changing over to LED ones.
Up early this morning with a sore tummy, but have taken painkillers now. Have a few small plans today:
HG strawberries for breakfast (missed these!)
Check banks and update spreadsheet / spending diary etc
Load of washing for OH to peg out
Make a cake for OH to take to his community group's bbq this afternoon / evening - an easy one, just a jam and coconut sponge.
Might get to my sales unit if I feel up to it after that. OH will do lifting and driving. Depends if I feel like pricing and arranging
:rotfl:
Do myself an omelette and salad for dinner - OH will eat enough at the bbq I am sure!0 -
Dawn - Glad to hear your surgery went OK. You will probably get a few little bits & pieces done today, then feel shattered, so do remember to rest, as rest is an important healer after surgery.
Have woken early with a bit of a headache starting so must try & nip that in the bud. Nothing v exciting planned today but intend to catch up on laundry & garden tasks which have been rained off so far this week, & will be using up a few odds & ends in a tamale pie.

Hi gang,
Dawn, lovely to hear from you. Take care of yourself and rest up!! :coffee: They back date child benefit for 3 months so it depends when they process it as that can take 12 weeks :rotfl:
DNMS - result on the light bulbs. If you don't ask you don't get
I also filled in the form for prescription exemption yesterday - something else that's been on my to do list
Also spent a small fortune on nappies for LGBut she was in disposables last night as her overnight nappy still wasn't dry and her bum was so red this morning even though I changed her in the night - need to get a few more in stock so that doesn't happen in future... They recommend 5 and she only had 2 so getting a few more should also mean we can eventually move to washing every other day. :T Also bought some terry squares and muslins to try with a nippa and wraps - kinda think this option will work better... If it does I'll sell some of my stash second hand. Good news is that baby is small for her age so the smallest size will last her for AGES.
She's not expected to be 18lb until she's close to 18 months so we should get our money's worth
Going out today to meet up with some baby group pals. Off to a local community centre group and cafe so should be cheap.
Going to cancel my cleaner for tomorrow - might even cancel altogether as easier for me to keep up with it when not working...
Need to sort YNAB to account for nappy spends - move some cash from 'mat leave' pot to baby spends pot should do the trick
Using the ocado app to meal plan - I love it that it sorts your receipt by use by date:cool:
And just the usual I won't bore you with :rotfl:0
