There is a useful piece in MSE News HERE.
However it's slightly out of date in terms of the possible strike dates as it was written in June. However your rights should remain the same. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -

Rebooking or refund. Insurance covers any additional losses. Be prepared to get quickly online or the phone as there will be limited availability on non strike days.Legal team on standby0 -
According to 'Head for Points' their sources understand that the appeal will be heard by the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) on Tuesday 30th July.
"It may be held in private, but if not you can pop along to the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand and watch.
The judges are due to be Davis, Hambling and Simler, for the benefit of our legal community readers.
If we assume that BALPA wins and announces dates immediately, we are looking at (very unlikely unless the 14 days are not full days) Monday 12th or (not very likely as the appeal result may not be announced same day) Tuesday 13rd or (perhaps most likely) Wednesday 14th August for the first strike depending on how you interpret the ’14 days notice’ clause."
Clearly there is still a lot of uncertainty, but hopefully things will be clearer by Tuesday, 30th or Wednesday, 31st.There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
The Court of Appeal (Civil Decision) has finished hearing evidence in the case of British Airways plc vs British Airline Pilots’ Association.

Balpa statement:
Release date: 31/07/2019
The Court of Appeal has rejected British Airways’ attempt to injunct BALPA’s proposed industrial action on a technicality. The legality of BALPA’s ballot has been affirmed.
BA’s case was already dismissed once at the High Court last week, but they insisted on wasting more time in pressing it to an appeal.
BALPA General Secretary, Brian Strutton, said:
“The Court of Appeal has today rightly dismissed BA’s attempt to injunct this industrial action on a technicality.
“BA’s attempt to defeat the democratic view of their pilots in court, rather than deal with us across the negotiating table, has sadly wasted huge amounts of time and money that could have been put into finding a peaceful resolution. Now the window for negotiation and compromise is closing fast.”
“BA need to wake up to reality. Our ballot returned 93% in favour of strike action. There is a serious issue here and BA has so far refused to help us tackle it.
“On BA’s own figures submitted to the court, even a single day of strike action will cost far more than we believe it would take to settle this dispute.
“However, BALPA wants to resolve this matter through negotiation and so we are not announcing strike dates. Instead, we have called on BA to hold further talks at ACAS and they have agreed to meet at ACAS today and for the rest of this week for one last try to resolve this dispute by negotiation.
“We have spent four days in talks at ACAS already, and BA refused to move their position one iota. But we hope they now recongise the seriousness of the situation and will work positively with us to find a way forward.
“We are not announcing strike dates today. In any event we are required by law to provide BA with 14 days’ notice of any proposed strike action.”

Thanks for the continued updates - very helpful and hot off the press.
It puts me well in the clear. I hope they reach a resolution so everyone travelling later in the month / year can rest easy too.
Just praying now for the Heathrow strikes to not go ahead...!0 -
What makes me sick though is the union representative coming on TV and saying they don't want to inconvenience the travelling public, but always strike at the time when it will cause maximum inconvenience. If they were genuine in their claim they would postpone any strike action until after October half term when passenger numbers are at their lowest.0

Im off trekking in Eastern Europe for a few week camping soon. Outbound flight is within 2 weeks so wont be effected, but return flight could be. I wont have access to free data, signal will be spotty at best and wont have wifi until the day before my return flight. So i may not know about the strike until 24hrs before the flight. Whats the best option then as guessing all available seats will have been taken by passengers rebooking. Also phoning UK from Eastern Europe to rebook wont be cheap. Can you just go to the airport and sort it there?0

They have only been offered 11 and a half percent over 3 years,:eek:0
