Did you use the website contact form, or send direct to the cs email address?
A supervisor told me the form doesn't work, as if I shouldn't be surprised by no reply. I said you can hardly expect customers to know that by intuition.
He did something which generated an automatic response email a few minutes later, said they were looking into my case and would be in touch. That was three weeks ago.0 -
I used both. Still no reply. I have had dealings with them in the past and they are shysters in my view. The response they gave to you supports that in my mind. I am not wasting another ounce of my being on chasing them now that my top-up got refunded by the credit card company. Even if they do bother to reply to one or both methods I use. Their SIM is languishing in a ziploc bag somewhere and I may use it as an emergency phone if they leave credit on it. But I am gladly done with them in a missing Toggle sort of way - I really thought that might have had legs but it kind of fizzled out sadly.0

I'm in two minds about it. Either write off my £2.60 and use PAC to move my main incoming number to perhaps O2's 321 rates before they disappear, or stubbornly carry on at Lyca, slowly using only the cheap international rates. No use abroad for the latter option.
I think I might have to start up with one of the 321 options anyway. I don't send many texts, and some are free when there is data access, but I'm not going to pay Lyca 19p.0 -

I'm not going to give them another penny. Ever.0 -
I asked my card company to instigate a chargeback for the most recent top up of £20. My actual loss is £26.26, though some of that preceded this particular card so I claimed the £20.
They say they will pursue it. As chargebacks can take a long time and in view of the low amount involved, they have refunded the £20.
Whether they do confront Lyca (I hope they do!), I still currently have a small balance with Lyca. There is no way that I will willingly use Lyca's extortionate rates, except to keep the number alive - it is a memorable one that I would hope to transfer to another phone.
My wife is very happy with her Smarty account.
Lyca? Me no Lyca.0 -
The madness continues! I've just had an SMS from Lyca saying that the annual charge for my Swiss number linked to my Togglemobile account will be applied in a few days.
What? The Swiss number they have already told me is no longer valid following the demise of Togglemobile? I tried to text back, but the message is undeliverable.
I obviously don't want to have my remaining balance reduced by Lyca's fictitious charges. I tried to donate an amount to a BBC-promoted charity using one of those 7xxxx numbers. It failed.
Checking that my number is still valid, I sent myself an SMS to another mobile. It worked, and my Lyca balance was adjusted immediately. Can it be that 7xxxx numbers are banned from Lyca?
Me no Lyca.0 -
Both my son and I had/have Lyca/Toggle SIMS and the change to "My material detriment" came with zero notice. Pointless phonecalls with so-called Customer Service people revealed a huge lack of information. The chap on the end of the Togglemobile number was basically a human voicemail system. He was honest and said they weren't making any money so closed it. Denied all knowledge of the month's notice.
It took 3 weeks of back and forth, emails to India and even a call to my number but I got the £5 Local Number fees back (only in call credit though). Then paid for a monthly bundle only to reveal that they could not activate data on the SIM (even a replacement Lyca one)
I will just use up my credit slowly and switch when it gets to zero.
My son, though, was travelling in the USA when the change came. From zero roaming fees to received calls at 99p/minute and from 3p to call home to £1.26. It was very much a material detriment.
Anyway, weeks of emails got nowhere, inc. a try on the Resolver website. In a couple of days he is going to start a case against them at the Ombudsman. Nothing to lose and the cost of a real USA SIM and call costs to gain. It probably costs them something to defend it so that's a bonus.0 -

Hah! Text message received overnight, they say they have renewed my Swiss local number at a cost of £0.000000.
I called the Swiss number, and it rang! Oo er. I guess this means I can receive calls on my Swiss number when in Switzerland, presumably at a cost of 0p. Could I make calls, and at what price? Possibly, and don't know. I'm tempted to take my 'Toggle' phone next time to check.
As they had already renewed my US number (and charged for doing so), it's possible that the same may apply in the US.
I thought it was all over, but this could be one way of using up my balance.0 -
I've had two people tell me they've attempted several calls or text messages to this number in the last few months.
I didn't know anything.
Anybody else here?0 -
I heard nothing from Toggle about this. I'm in France and used Toggle to call family in the uk. I sas just trying to top-up and eventually found Lycamobile link. When I key in my Toggle number on the Lyca site, it says 'use valid telephone number'. I can still use the sim but I'm not able to top-up. If it only lasts for 30 days though, there's no point. It's not the same service, that's evident.
I hope I'm not on automatic top-up because I've no idea how I can cancel it now.
There's always another option. Just have to find it now...
