Why on earth have you agreed to go on this holiday with your father in the first place? Sounds like a nightmare?

Is it just the two of you, or with the rest of the family?

    Is he paying????
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

My dad would never book online he has zero IT skills. We may not have a holiday next year if Thomas cook go bust as he would never use TUI again

    a. it is still possible to book by phone. however i would suggest avoiding fax or telex

    b. there are other tour operators. i would suggest jet2, just don't research the average age of their fleet.

It's my dad's big concern - he struggles with poor english skills - grecce tends to have good english so we don't have a problem here but in cyprus he once stormed out of a resturant as the waitress could not understand what he was trying to order.

Poor woman. I do hope you apologised on his behalf.

If this is genuine, which I am regarding with a certain degree of scepticism he either needs to get a grip or not put himself in those situations in the first place.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Then your dad is properly correct. You would have to be one to take your dad abroad knowing what a tool he acts.
    Victim blaming.

How are you a victim? (And a victim of what exactly?)

In fairness to the OP - my parents book in shop every year without fail.

Sounds like he should take his holidays at home to me if the flight arrangements and people not speak English stress him out so much

Your Father sounds like a very rude, and unpleasant man all round. If I were you I would certainly not be holidaying with him and would just let him get on with it all himself. Perhaps the headline should read slightly differently?
