  • I ordered a DS lite for my sons bday and have only had one minor problem with the card which they sorted out within a month of first reporting it.

I did get stung for the customs charge but hey-ho
  • Have used them spot on they are.
  • it seems I have just been conned out of £150.00 and my graddaughters xmas pressie. I ordered a DS lite bundle from gadget asia 23rd nov and have just received a letter from Customs & Excise implying that the goods are counterfeit. Im really not sure if this is what they are saying and dont know what to do next. I paid on my credit card and wondered if there was anything I could do. I was under the impression that the shipping was free and thought as the company had been going a while it would be genuine. Is there anyone who can help me as Im not too clever when it comes to understanding the legal jargon and need simple explanations  Im not even sure ive done this correct, I was wanting to post a new thread but couldn't see where to go to do it.

If they've been confirmed as counterfeit then you have no choice but to try and get your money back from your credit card company etc.

One quick question why have you paid £150 for an item which is readily available in the UK for £120'ish?

My friend is going through the same thing as Bardenny. She received the same letter from C&E yesterday. She paid through Paypal on her credit card.

Could you (or anyone else) tell me if credit cards or Paypal will help in situations such as this?? If so on what grounds and how?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I have contacted my credit card company and theya re sending a form to fill out, once they recive this back they will see what they can do, in the meantime they said they have suspended payment until the dispute is sorted. I dont understand how this site can trade if they are using counterfeit goods surely you would expect lots of complaints and media coverage on such sites and Ive never seen any.

  • Iam surprised as i ordered a R4 card and got it straight away, so unless the authorities are clamping down on the sale of these items i don't know what's went wrong with Gadget Asia.
  • Hi

This is my 1st posting so hope it works OK.

I wanted to let you know, please beware of Gadget Asia. I ordered a Nintendo DS Lite which, in the tracking information from FedEx (the courier company) said it was in a fedex facility in Stansted Airport. It remained there until yesterday, when the tracking status said "returned to shipper". I couldn't get a response from Gadget Asia yesterday, though they had sent me an email a few days ago saying that they understood customers were worried about customs and excise seizing bundles, suspecting they were counterfeits. The email demonstrated how to 'prove the package' (I assume this meant prove it's genuine) and said any packages not delivered would be offered a full refund. I phoned the very helpful fedex customer service this morning and they confirm the shipping consisted of COUNTERFEIT goods.

I did some digging last night on the internet (with hindsight, should have done this before purchase) - very mixed reviews. Some had good experiences and others had bad - including people being required to pay duty on the package when it arrives (not such a good deal after all...?)

This has all been quite stressful as it was supposed to be an Xmas present for my 7 year old. To save anyone else having this worry, please don't order with them as they appear to be dodgy. At least google "gadget Asia reviews" and have a read.

IF anyone has any advice on how I can claim my money back, I'd be grateful for any feedback.

    Thanks guys
