The BBC should have scrambled their channels at the end of 2012, when the whole of the UK became digital. Then we would truly see how many subscribers they had , their Britbox subscription offering, when released, will see how many subscribe to that knowing that they could put every politically incorrect content on there for those who want to watch it, but I suspect they won't.

It shouldn't be over 75's that get a free licence it should be all pensioners on only the state pension. The government could say that if the BBC are only giving a free Licence to those receiving pension credit then the iplayer app goes free to all, see how they like that?

TAKE THE FREE LICENCE AWAY AND IPLAYER BECOMES FREE FOR ALL
Someone please tell me what money is

The annual salary for the BBC's Director-General is "£450,000".

£450,000 seems almost trivial by comparison with the Nationwide Building Society:

£2.317 million for the CEO and yet another £4.26 million shared by three more directors.

How in heaven's name can that be justified for a building society owned by its members, albeit a large one?

You can stop paying Nationwide, and to move to a different Building Society, if you don't like the way they operate, but you can't stop paying the BBC, and move to a different broadcaster.

Yes you can. It’s perfectly straightforward.

Wow.... all this froth over some millionaire pensioners having to pay £150/year for a service they overwhelmingly use. To put it more succinctly.....

"75 year old Mick Jagged is entitled to a free TV licence because...."

Not expecting many if any replies which says it all.

It's not just "millionaire pensioners" who will have to pay.

It's any person over 75, who isn't eligible for Pension Credit, and you don't need to be anywhere near a millionaire, to be ineligible.

So to boil down your post....

Under the current system wealthy pensioners get a free licence under the NEW system they don’t only poor pensioners get a free licence.

Might I ask what’s wrong with that?
