Green have now launched ampere. A fixed rate tariff with exit fees that for me is the cheapest on the market.

Rates are 20p per day standing charge and 11.202 p per kwh

PS within minutes of posting this saga on Trustpilot, I was contacted by a very apologetic senior agent, who has vowed to sort this out on Monday. If they are true to their word, then I’ll update this review too.

Where to start? 3 months in - our switch has still not been completed by Green.
Meanwhile previous supplier (Tonik) has about £350 of ours which we won’t see until Green provide them with final electricity readings. So until Green complete the switch, we don’t get the money we’re owed - but Green have had no such difficulty getting more money out of us: by increasing our Direct Debit!

I’ve switched energy supplier loads of times - never any problem - certainly never such incompetence as this. Each time I call Green to chase them up, a new customer service agent attempts to dream up a new reason why they haven’t completed the switch. We’ve had more help from Tonik trying to get to the bottom of this than anyone from Green. Yesterday’s agent announced we didn’t have an account with them & asked me to send a photo of my meter - but I already sent them one of those back in November when the whole saga started! Turns out the girl yesterday had mis-typed our account number - despite me repeating it to her several times. She then started reeling off loads of meter readings which bore no relation to reality - until I insisted she check: turned out they were all rubbish too.

The problems stem from an Economy 7 meter which was erroneously registered at our address. We were completely unaware of this & none of our previous suppliers have raised it as an issue. But Green are making very heavy weather of it, taking ages to correct it (still haven’t), delaying our switch & our online account still shows an Economy 7 meter linked to our address!

I envy all the forumites here who’ve apparently had no problems with Green. Thing is - it’s gone on so long now, MSE has started sending messages saying I’m now paying too much with Green - but I can’t leave them cos I haven’t even properly joined them yet!

Great news received from green today.

Here's the message I received when I asked on behalf of a couple of friends about the dcc ofgem problem
'Dear Taf. Thank you for your message - I'm very pleased to confirm that we are now a DCC User effective from 17th Feb 2020. I can also confirm that the proposed final order will no longer be pursued as we have complied with the instruction from Ofgem. I believe that we have become a DCC User in the shortest time of any supplier to date, and were the youngest supplier on the list published by Ofgem by a significant amount.

  • I received feedback that contradicts the above when I contacted them about their DCC status today. I was told “ The Ofgem report published on 10/1/2020 is in relation to being DCC compliant, This being said we did apply to be compliant however due to the application being lost, we have been informed we need to reapply. This is nothing more than a bureaucratic error, We have already reapplied for the DCC Compliance.” They could not give me a timeframe for when they expect to be compliant.

I was originally given the feedback you quote  by josh on greens chat on 10th January.

Is that who you spoke to

The advice I posted above was communicated via Facebook messenger and was also posted as a reply to a Facebook question on greens Facebook page on 20th February

'Dear Dave. Thanks for your message and sorry for the delay in responding. I can confirm we are now a DCC User - achieving this in record time. The provisional order will now be abandoned as a result.'

Right -this is a Q for existing Green members:-
Logged into Green website today via "magic link" to see if there were any messages re my switch due this week. No emails yet, but a button appears "submit initial readings" -click on this, and it asks me which programme to use Chrome , mail etc. Whichever I use ,can't see any way to input meter reads!! eg click on Chrome it just opens a new Chrome browser window.

Don't use apps on mobiles for anything financial. Prefer to keep it on one isolated Win 10 desktop. I'm using Edge at the moment . I wonder if that is the issue. I'll try making Chrome the default browser and try again :)   Nope -that doesn't work -still asks me which programme I want to use ,then asks me to set up a new account!!!
