Hi All,
Hope you had a lovely weekend.
Yesterday would have been another NSD..but...my tyre that i had replaced only a few days ago went flat again, Unfortunately the tyre when flat just before I was due to go work and the wheel brace I had was all broken so I could not change the wheel, meaning a train and bus to work and back. Today i got a new wheel brace and further investigation shows whoever fitted the tyre has smashed my alloy to bits on the back causing it to bend and ensuring I can now not put air in it!!! I am not best impressed.
I have managed to change it and put on the spare which will do me for getting to work and back tonight/2morrow then i have 4 days off to find a replacement.
I am though very happy that due to the way the budget and NSD are going that i was able to cover the train fares and could have covered a taxi if needed so the stuff i am doing is working but i feel a little deflated with the tyre issues as this is becoming a issue. I have done alot of reading up and my tyre size type is well known for offering an uncomfy ride and prone to damage so i am going to budget to replace the wheels and tyres which whilst is an expense i didn't want in the long run it will save me bumps and bruises and hopefully on tyres!0 -

^^^ That's the bit to focus on, you were able to cover these costs! Focus on the positives
P.S sorry to hear about the tyre though0 -

Hi FFD - I don't know where you had your tyres changed but around 5 years ago I had 2 tyres replaced and the garage decided to hack of the old balance-blocks with a screwdriver... leaving not so lovely gouges inside my alloys. I went back and they agreed to refurb both wheels! I know you say in the long run changing the wheels / tyres would save you money, but for now I would be reluctant to pay out for damage done in a garage.start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Hi Nats,
I am going to speak with the garage 1st thing tomorrow, as it is clear they have done the damage. The alloy is all bent on the back where they have wedge in between the tyre and alloy to get it off. Next time i will go to the place i normally go its just they closed at the time it needed changing.0 -

Every cloud has a silver lining! haha. Its annoying but i don't want to be negative about it coz it will annoy me more and i can't change it happening. I have not had much luck with the tyres lately0 -
Hope you get sorted tomorrow but it's great to hear your budget is working for you x0

Hey All.
Not really much going off MSE wise – yesterday was a much needed NSD!! Also hope the next few days will be NSD but we shall see. I have not much planned today just going to read some diaries and think of targets for July.
I have decided that I am going to invest now in changing the wheels on my car and doing the downgrade off them to make them better. The car isn’t really designed for comfort haha, but I am doing lots of miles so I am prepared to sacrifice the looks a little to get a better ride, also the tyres that I have on now are so thin that any bump or pothole damages them. So in the long run I will save more due to not having to keep replacing alloys ( replaced 2 already!). Unfortunately this decision means that I won't clear my mum debt this month but I can still clear about 300. So progress made. I plan on selling my alloys with tyres which are all good condition for about 40 each so i will recoup some money back and that can then go to paying off mum.
The fact i can do this all whilst not getting further into debt or needing to borrow more is a positive sign moving forward, just a little frustrated that the hard work this month isn't going to result in a debt been cleared0
