Haha not so sure about that, I’ve stumbled my way through some of it but your tips have been vital in my journey too 😉 x

its a long slog - a marathon not the sprint. It's great to get support at the start and plaudits at the end but my friend (who IS a marathon runner - not me) says its the support you get in the 3rd quarter (miles 13-20) that means the most - and helps him keep going

you've really turned it around for yourself and in the most amazingly difficult of circumstances so as you say kicking it in the head this year over the next 6 months would be sweet, but in the big scheme of things Jan or Feb will be just as sweet - you can so do this
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Yeah, I can get that analogy with the marathon, the 1st bit is the easiest coz you feel like you are making progress even if its small steps. The middle is the repetitive boring bit that takes the longest haha!

I do believe that I have worked hard to get to where I am at, my only regret is that its taken so long, although the end goal of home owner could be longer due to the current world situation, can only imagine the long term impacts this could have. I have toyed with the idea of dragging DF date a little longer to allow me to build up some savings and top the pots up. I guess the reality is a few extra months on top won't matter and by the near end most will be going on one debt anyways. The big thing is that i can see an end in sight which was not the case even 12 months ago.

Thank you for your continued encouragement Poppy! :) Yeah I am on the last stretch, which seems incredible considering the mess i was in last year, i mean it is still sizable sum but alot less than last June! My job despite its flaws as really helped with this due to the wage being decent and there is generally overtime where needed so I do have a lot to be thankful for, I am aware just how tough this last few months will have been for many people so I am trying my best to be upbeat and not get to down with some of the work stuff. x

    Evening All,

Hope everyone is doing good. I will do a proper update over the course of the next few days once payments have come out. Today has been a relaxed day following a really stressful last few night shifts. Tonight is time for a few beers and to chill.

In other news - I checked my report update and for some reason the account i was querying that displayed late payments since 2014 has now updated without me making any payments to up to date status so i am pretty confused as balance still shows the same, so need to keep eye on this one.

Have a cracking weekend all and stay safe

  • Well done on all the progress you've made and on being so close to debt freedom 👏👏
Hope you get to unwind over the weekend x

Thank you DITR :). I managed to unwind a little too much last night 🤣🤣 A good football result made me feel good strangely after feeling very very down in the morning following my night shift. Last night ended with some classic glasto on tv and a few drinks lol..the today me officially hates yesterday me 😂 my body is too frail today hahaha but it was nice to relax for the first time in what feels like forever

Hope you are taking care of yourself x
