Happy one year debt busting anniversary! and what a year it has been! You have completely smashed it! Well done on sticking to it (I find that's the hardest part) wishing you loads and loads of luck for the future and I know you will reach those goals in no time! Keep up the fab work Dan

    Poppy
Thank you Poppy :) Its been a crazy year haha - slowly getting there though and starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I have actually really surprised myself by sticking to it, so to think I am doing as well as I am is great (Still plenty to do though). Thank you for keeping popping by to support :) x

    Morning All,

Happy weekend 😊 OMG it looks gloomy outside right now. Up nice and early today, woke up at 3am for some reason and could not get back to sleep, already had morning coffee & toast. I am just going through updating YNAB and budgeting spreadsheet (Direct Debit Tracker & Debt Tracker) to make sure all matches.

    Today’s plan of action

1 – Contact Natwest, been putting this off for a while but I need to at least try find out which company they have passed this on to, no idea since last contact was 2016 when defaulted. If a DCA then wonder if it might be worth offering a lower figure just to get sorted – suggestions welcome - Called them but  system issues so need to contact Monday

2 – Contact Water – As above - Done & managed to track down who has the account currently, now to get in touch with the DCA responsible and go from there

3 – Check online for some storage stuff for kitchen and get ready for meal prep / smoothies’ prep

4 – Really need to fit exercise in somewhere but totally not feeling it right now, lost mojo a little could do with a little lift quick! ☹ - Well i forced myself out for a run, not a long run but a run all the same, we can consider that progress and that off my to do list - gotta get better at this

Last weekend I managed to clear a lot of space in the wardrobes, just got a little more to sort through (mainly little one’s old clothes) and then I can start possibly looking at getting another skip to finish rest of clearance – before the fun of decorating starts

    Have a fab weekend all

know what you mean about mojo and exercise - haven't been more than 100 yards from the house since Monday - important thing is that you made it out and it will be easier next time

And just like that the weekend is over haha!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, back into work tomorrow. I managed to complete all my tasks, tyres have now been ordered too so will be glad to get that outta the way i have been putting it off for ages!. I need to start tackling stuff quicker, I need to draft up email to the DCA for Water debt, although have no idea where to start as got no ref number at all and have no contact from them since it defaulted in 2016. Also unsure how to approach, whether its worth maybe offer a settlement rather than jump straight in with a payment plan.

Budget wise everything looking good for now so will keep an eye on things with view of overpaying debts. It does look like has planned though i will be in a place to pay off most DT3 and DT4 by end of June.

not sure I can help with contacting the water people.  I have seen on other parts of the forum people making settlement offers at 25-50%.  I would start a separate thread on the main debt board or a utilities one.  You should be prepared for a few really helpful answers and some just saying pay what you owe but without really helping.  That can be a bit tough to hear but forewarned is forearmed, and just wait for the helpful people to come along

    Hey All,

Hope everyone is doing okay, another week down in this crazy year! Not really been up to much MSE wise, the budget is looking good although i did go over budget on the shop this week. It was as high as it has been for a long time, there were a few extra goodies in there that wouldn't normally be though.

The new wheels and tyres were finally fitted to the car this week - they have been in storage since before lockdown so finally ordered tyres last week but these were saved for well in advance so no major hiccup. The old tyres were ready for changing, also needed to replace a bulb in headlight in car too so she has deffo been spoilt this week! haha..i might even treat her to a wash at some point 🤣

I really need to get back into shape with YNAB, despite my money been fine, i am not tracking the little spends like i should be as much so need to find a way to get back into this. I do have an excel sheet to though so still finding easy to keep well within budget. I have a set of nights to do and then got some more time off so looking forward to that. I will probably do some more sorting - weather seems like going to pick up so some more gardening to do.

Hope everyone is doing well - i will now go catch up on diaries

And the end of another 4 off comes to an end hehe - late night tonight as I will probably sleep a part of tomorrow in preparation for night shift. This is always the plan and never ever works so dunno why i keep trying.

Just popping in to note my current debt figure whilst I have it up on spreadsheets. So I have worked out all the figures and my current figure is £2879.67 which is crazy when i think of where i was at last year  This is made up of 6 debts - Two of which i am hoping are cleared this month or the latest end of July. I haven't been as strict with my pots so far so this is something i need to improve on but honestly now i am close to getting debt free I would love to do this by December. In theory if i stick to my plan i will be debt free by 28th December which would be an amazing end to what as been a pretty crap year (so far).

Debt 1 - £219.67 - Being paid off this month. I have £80 already that i will have left from last month to pay this and then I will pay rest from my month wage
    Debt 2 - £300 - I will hopefully pay a chunk of this of - agreed payment is £100
Debt 3 - £286 - currently holding off this as i am in discussion with these, they have been marking down as late payment since 2014, and the late payments were way longer back than that - so I have written to them requesting they default the account from when it should have actually defaulted. I will then pay off the balance
    Debt 4 - £513
    Debt 5 - £517
    Debt 6 - £1044 :open_mouth:

Debt 4,5,6 I will probably attack all together, I am hoping to be able to pay £400-£450 per month until the end of the year which should be achievable if I stick to budget properly. I have got better with my direct debits over the last 12 months so i think setting up the direct debits on these is best option but for now I am still figuring this out.

Here is to the next 6 months of hard work - the end seems so near but don't want to count my chickens yet, its still going to be really tough!
