Hope good things come of getting stuff off your chest at your review...?

Wooooo :) - I am also still getting to grips with the new layout too

hahaha. The review went better than expected, I think the last few months of drama just affected me way more than I possibly let on to people (its not really my style to be to open). My manager explained where they see me at in terms of work and that I am the one member of staff they believe they can rely on and how much of a positive influence I am on the team as well as been the one who truly understands the in/outs of the contract. So that was nice to hear after the last few months :)
The gym is going better than i thought it would hehe, early wake ups are still taking getting used to though!

As promised...the few positves so far this month

I have hit the gym before work every day (except today) which I never thought possible

This has had way more benefit at the moment to my mental well being, than the physical benefits but slowly i am seeing the fitness benefits. It will defo be a few months before i notice any fitness benefit proper though i would think. I am not doing to much high intensity stuff just yet, one reason is not sure how knee will hold up and another is i just need to get fitter before doing much else. Most of work as been rowing, treadmill, cross-trainer(OMG OUCH!!) haa. Also done some ab muscle work.

I had development review at work where got a few things of chest (more to follow maybe lol )

This went way better than i thought it would and was given quite a lot of positive feedback, which given the last few months were very much welcomed. I had expressed that i want to progress which is one reason i felt a little unfulfilled in my role, turns out they had been working on a project that is a huge project which i am now involved in which will give me experience needed to progress (one day) to management level as well as some IT systems development. There is so serious work to put in but this is the challenge i wanted! :) could mean a slight change in hours...lets see

    Hi Dan!
Just popping in to keep up to date.
Glad the gym is making you feel better. It definitely makes me feel better but need to get in to a better habit. I didn't go at all this week and maybe only once last week  :# I want to do at least twice a week.
Well done on getting through the interview. These things are always our chance to find out if the company and job are suitable as well as them interviewing the candidate.
Have you made any decisions about splitting your money? It's tricky isn't it. I'm definitely re-thinking things at the moment as have some things I want to save for and some things I need to save for, one of them being fees to re-mortgage my help to buy next year. I know it's a little way off but best laid plans and all that. When you talk about saving for help to buy, are you talking about a deposit?
    Have a great week!
    TG x
    Hey TG :)
The gym is making me feel really good and as its on way to work I kinda force myself to go in there on route (the getting up early isn't great fun haha) however once I'm up I am fine, then find the workout makes me more fresh.
It is very tricky as I do know that in theory having EF and having some savings in H2B would help, but I am so focussed on wanting debt gone that I feel an EF is counter productive. I know that sounds silly, however as a tenant I don't for see an emergency that can't  be covered by income (I know I am screaming at myself too). I just want to pile everything into debt but I think I will stick with EF for now. And yeah the H2B is for deposit and obvs an house is way down the line I think.

Hope your plans are going well... I need to catch up on diaries :)

    Have a good week too

    Hiya!
That's great about the gym. I leave for work too early to go to mine in the morning, but I literally pass it on the way home, I don't even have to de-tour lol. I was on the treadmill yesterday thinking yeah I could do a marathon haha! Better focus on 10k first!
Re the EF fund, I get what you mean. It feels like you're not getting anywhere. Could you build maybe a smaller one incase you have any car troubles or for anything unexpected, and then if you get to a point where your debt matches your EF just pay it off?
Well done on your review, sounds like they have got some great plans for you!  :)

    Hi 😃
Its a mixed bag with gym times, I do days/nights so i tend to go on the way home from a night shift @ 7am and if i am working days i get there about 6ish (getting up at the same time as i normally would just means I set of a little earlier) . I go gym and then shower at gym and then head off to work which is like a  5min or so drive so its convenient.  I think I am a million miles from 10k lol never mind a marathon but i get very impatient i like instant results 😂

Ideally i would like 1k EF by December which would be really good for me and hopefully in the meantime i can smash the debt. Strangely the work meeting as settled a few thoughts down and makes me feel a little easier in my choices, despite some frustration with the place i do feel settled and don't always like unforced change. The job isn't the best but i have worked in worse and i'm on more money than anywhere i have been so to up and leave now would probably be the wrong choice.

I use Puregym which is open 24x7 for £25pm and gives me access across most of the places I visit for work.  Not anywhere near as regular as you though so well done for that.  My DD used anytime fitness which was likewise 24x7 as she was on shifts she couldalways go in when it was quiet
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

    Hi All,

Well i did have loads planned for today to sort out, however i have literally spent the day catching up on diaries and listening to Dave Ramsey, wow there are some crazy financial stories out there!

I did manage to clean the little ones room and blitz cleaning the kitchen, so not all lost. I have got meal plan to do in prep to order or go get (undecided yet) I always seem to miss something doing online shopping but always seem to save money too.

Two out of three of the household are a little under the weather so it will be a relaxed night watching some tv and possibly an early night for us all.

Not much really MSE going off, just gone through all Direct Debits and cancelled the ones no longer relevant so i can get a view of what is actually coming out in my statements rather than just a spreadsheet. I have decided YNAB is defo something i will persist with, i just have to find the funds from somewhere to purchase it. I feel like so much more in control when i can see this in the YNAB format. I wonder if i should just pay monthly for a while (i know not the cost effective way to do it) just to see how a few months of using it works and then take the plunge if it does work.

    To Do:

    * Meal Plan
    * On-line grocery Shop.

I have watched a few YNAB videos today around generally budgeting and love an idea of a wish list and saving towards 'wants' now obvs this is low cost stuff until debt free but its something i like idea of.

    Hey Mark,

The one i use is puregym and is on route to work, its £23.99 a month and there are cheaper ones near me but this is on route to work and suits me so much better. I am starting to see the benefits if not physically yet certainly mentally
