Wow...I can't believe I am posting this but for the 1st time in like my life ever! I have an emergancy fund....well the begining of one. This month has allowed me to put £100 straight into a emergency fund and I will continue to do this every month.

Sorry for the over excitedness(obvs not a word :rotfl:) but this would never have been possible before. I was way to scared my budget would fail me so would always keep some back ''just in case'' which usually meant it got spent. But I have been able to put this away and not majorly impact anything else in the budget.

    Hey All,

    Hope everyone is good.

So eventually got to payday and managed to finally pay off DT1, its only a small amount but that is it now cleared and on to the next one. It feels good paying off the debt and seeing account closed :T.

Done quite a big shop in A*di and also now filled the freezer so although a chunk of my food budget (which for the 1st I have been able to put the full amount from my wage) is gone I have enough food for a while lol. I do have a small buffer in my budget in case I have under forecast. We normally get income scattered through the month and buy food weekly & petrol the same which means we normally go way over budget so hoping this different way works.

I see this as a sign of how far I have actually come and feel really good right now. IF I can continue to make these positive steps forward we are in really good standing.

Signature updated will be updated :)

    Hi All,

Well unexpected extra night shift to do :( colleague phoned in sick so now i am cover! haha. In more positive news i've been offered an interview for a role i applied for which i was unsure of going for but i think i will go for it and then if offered the role i can make a decision.

This means my plans for tomorrow are up in the air as i will now be sleeping through the day. I have also had the gas/electric bill which i could pay in full (never ever happened)

In other news i found out the thing i have been declaring on my car insurance for the last 3 years i didn't actually need to declare which now i have adjusted quotes to reflect this will save me a massive amount, still unsure if i am going to get to pay in full however i will save about £35 a month on insurance even if i have to pay monthly.

Today was also the day me and partner kinda firmed up our intentions for the next few years which is to hammer the debt for a year and hopefully then start to try save a deposit for our forever home

    Hi

Great to read that it's starting to come together for you! I paid off my first targeted loan a couple of weeks back and know that it's such a good feeling and really helps to keep your mind in it, well done.

Good luck with the interview, enjoy the upward trend!

Hey, Thank you for popping in

Yeah things seem to be going okay at the moment. I agree paying off the debt does have a satisfying feeling that makes you just want to get it all paid off like right away but unfortunately that just isn't possible. It will be a slow steady process I thin but I will get there

Well done on paying of your first targeted loan.

    Hey All,

    Happy end of January....at last

Back on at work tonight for four night shifts. I am going to get myself to gym on route to work and then hopefully a nice steady shift. Friday nights and Saturdays are normally my most tiring as I go to football on the Saturday. All debt payments come out so will look how that has affected balances later too

    Have a cracking weekend guys.
  • All sounding good Dan, well deserved :T you've certainly put the work in so it's great to see your budget's working for you x
