  • I ventured to the shops on my lunch hour, grateful to be walking and not driving as the traffic was awful, I picked up the extra bits I had wanted to get in Boots gift-wise, and got myself a gratitude journal to make it into the 3 for 2 offer, so pleased with that.

I also got my birthday cards for January and February when I picked up the Christmas cards to make the most of the 3 for £3 Asda do on their cards, and managed to find two of the radiator racks, too :)

No santa hat, as I remembered I will not long have had my hair done, so don't want to get hat hair on the same day, I'll just wear my Christmas jumper instead!

I'm about to order OH a PS4 voucher to go in his stocking (yes, we do stockings, just silly little bits for the most part) and then I am 100% DONE for Christmas :D

Well done on being so organised... I still have loads to do - from present wrapping to decorations. Still need to buy a present online too.

  • Happy Christmas Eve Eve :D

Trip to see the family was good, albeit tiring with all of the driving but no issues on either 2 hour trip so no real complaints there :)

Work is going to be absolutely dead today and tomorrow. but at least the roads are clear :)

I'm expecting my FT pay tomorrow as we got paid on Christmas Eve last year, not that I am in a massive hurry I've got plenty of food and petrol.

Going to be a NSD today, and tomorrow, and I'd be very shocked if I managed to spend any money on Christmas day :rotfl: boxing day perhaps....

I had some lovely cuddles with my beautiful nephew, he's absolutely gorgeous :D

Right - time to crack on making some extra pennies :)
  • One more day of work to go and then 2 days off, my body needs it, I hope I'm not coming down with something but the last two days I've had hot flushes and shaky spells that pass eventually, I've got ulcers coming out in my mouth and my skin is awful so clearly my body feels run down, but I've not been doing anything out of the ordinary or particularly exerting other than the long day driving!

Popping some gifts round to some of my family tonight with OH, then doing the last few tomorrow before heading home.

We have a new hoover arriving tomorrow as our one is super naff and just doesn't pick anything up properly any more despite rigorous cleaning and emptying on a frequent basis, so sadly I am looking forward to proper cleaning the house with it tomorrow evening ready for Christmas day.

My plan of action for my early pay is just to make the usual manual payments I would with my pay, and pop the rest to one side until the day where I would normally get paid, thus not falling into the tried and not trustworthy pattern of scraping by until January's pay.

I'll be on over the festive period I believe to keep myself accountable, but for those who won't be, Merry Christmas xxx
  • Happy Christmas Eve!!! :santa2:

The 2 manual payments have been made - AND recorded on YNAB where my budget is all detailed for the upcoming month, I have the funds spare before the 14th to pay for my subscription to it, but I want to wait until I have to spend something to maximise my NSD's.

Today is going to be such a long day at work! Once I finish, I am off delivering the last of presents to family so we don't need to venture anywhere tomorrow if we don't want to, then time to go home and pick up our new hoover from next door neighbour (checked with him it was fine for it to be delivered there) and blitz the house, and put the last few bits in OH's stocking.

I am determined to go into the new year organised and stress-free where possible, when buying the last few Christmas cards last week I also picked up (and wrote) all of the birthday cards for both sides of the family for Jan & Feb, feeling a little smug for having done that already :rotfl:

Felt even more poorly after work yesterday, but feel a bit better this morning so hopefully it's passed, whatever it was!

Right, time to get myself a coffee and crack on!
  • Good morning lovelies :hello:

I must admit I gave in to a few Boxing Day purchases, though most of it was spent on gift cards we got for Christmas, or will be recouped via the sale of my old laptop on eBay as I have a new one, so the budget still looks solid :)

That was a lovely two days, lots of food, lots of wine, and lots of relaxing :) it will be nice to get back into a weekday routine next week though, all of the housework is all over the place :rotfl:

The bulk of my wages is still in my separate account, I think tomorrow I will move it over as I think I have one or two bills due out on Monday, and then I don't need to worry about remembering to transfer it over!

I got spoilt for Christmas, as did OH, and the kids did too, they were over the moon when they'd unwrapped their gifts yesterday, I don't think they were expecting as much as they got, it was lovely to see the smiles on their faces :)

For the first year ever, I picked up some dirt cheap wrapping paper and bows etc in Tesco, ready for next year, got plenty of it and all super cheap, we have what I have nominated as a "Christmas Cr*p" box, which now has all of these, plus any gift bags we are recycling, and left over tags etc from this year. I'll probably try and pick up some sellotape rolls and pop them in there too, so everything is in there ready for next year.

As always, time to pour a coffee and get cracking with earning some pennies :D x
  • Pleased you had a lovely time, well done on the bargains. I need to do the same but can't bear the thought of going to the shops at the moment :)

    Thanks DITR :D

We waited a while after the shops open yesterday to avoid the masses, but still some bargains to be had :)

Going to sit down over the weekend and work out my goals for the upcoming year, the main ones will be to pay off my car finance to be 10000000% debt free, and to start saving into my LISA, but plenty more goals I can identify and work towards.

We have the sky engineer coming tomorrow to set up our new tv stuff, and not a day too soon as we can't rely on a good signal for Now TV etc when the kids are hammering the internet on their respective devices!

I can't wait to get home and tidy the house properly :rotfl:
  • At least 1 stone weight loss :money:

I have signed up to the NHS 12 week weight loss plan which gives you a chart to stick on the fridge to fill out every day/week, and asked OH to pick me up some body analyser scales on his way home and I will repay him when I have a spendy day. I am currently looking up and writing down the quick exercises I can fit into my day, and healthy snacks that can be easily prepared and taken to work.

I am going to have to really force myself to go to the gym or the pool once or twice a week, we have a weight training set at home that I can make better use of once I have deep cleaned the stinky cupboard again (trying again this weekend now there is only one layer of carpet - the one that stinks of weed - so it's less grim going in and out of the storage cupboard).

I think I will try and have a proper breakfast before I leave for work in the morning, and have my protein smoothies as a mid-morning snack to tide me over until lunch.

The most important thing I need to try and do is drink more water, this is something I have massively dropped out of doing and I can tell for the fact that my lips are constantly chapped and sore.

I will post here the weight loss and inches/cm difference, I won't post starting weights or measurements as I know weight loss is relative for each person, I have plenty of people in my life that scoff at the fact that I want to lose weight just because I weight less than them.

That is 2020 Goal Number One, I shall try and list them all in the lead up to the new year, so I can go into detail where needed without writing one epic saga of a post that people stop reading part way through :rotfl:

I am going to be starting this all on the 30th Jan as otherwise I would be starting mid-week at it would bother me when everything in my planners/charts starts on a Monday

Hope you had a fab xmas!

Well done on the goal setting once your debt free it will be good to have other goals to keep you focused and driven. It is always good to have other things to focus energy on
