    As above

Your friend CANNOT rep you in a hearing, unless they are a lawyer. They can attend but only alongside you.

    Good to know. Thanks, nosferatu.

I'll send the DQ now anyway as the deadline is approaching and while providing BW Legal a copy of it I will attach a letter stating my costs so they'll have a chance to pull the case.

Head it up 'DRAFT SUMMARY COSTS ASSESSMENT' - and don't hold back on the £££ (but be sensible - you can't go claiming for bringing your family/relatives/dog/cat with you for example!)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    DRAFT SUMMARY COSTS ASSESSMENT
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
£400.00 - Return flight economy class tickets on Gdansk (GDN) - London Heathrow (LHR)
               LOT Polish Air Lines
£30.00 - Transport to and from an airport (Home - Gdansk - 15 miles)
£120.00 - Transport from and to an airport (Heathrow - Basingstoke - 35 miles)
£50.00 - single night stay at Premier Inn in Basginstoke
£425.00 - missing a billable working day for one of my company's clients
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    £1025.00 - TOTAL
EDIT: the last item is probably irrelevant and they can say it would be cheaper to hire a lawyer in the UK and I would have agreed. I'll send the DQs ASAP and later provide them with the costs assessment.

Hence we want d to see it

Ordinary costs - travel and time for hearing - is limited to half a day capped at £95 for your time off work, including loss of leave.
You woudl of course add on a section for
    Unreasonable behaviour costs
THis is a seperate tally of time spent to write defence, WS, time spent travelling back, all at £19 an hour (LiP rate)
Search other costs assessments to save us explaining this all again :)

     proving jurisdiciton would be trivial

Not if domicile is involved.  Domicile can be extremely complicated

I can 100% state as of 6th April 2020 that my domicile is my Poland's address. It already has and will affect my taxes for 2019-2020 years both in the UK and Poland.

Returning to the N180 (DQ) form. Should I state the hearing venue as Basingstoke County Court then or leave that field empty?
