  • Thanks for popping in guys and well done to the sub £24k Saving, that's amazing!
    Just a quick check in.
Literally nothing happened since my last post, DH and I have both had the worst colds either of us can ever remember having so it's been a battle getting through each day.
On the positive side, both boys are fine and no spending as we have no energy to go anywhere & have barely eaten so the kitchen is still well stocked 🙂
6 days until I get paid and the budget is still intact, will need to replenish our stash of cold and flu related medicines today though 😉 .
I'm off work today and tomorrow so I'm extremely thankful for that. Have a couple of medical appointments but other than that, a chance to rest and keep hydrated.
Hope everyone else is well x
  • Hello, trying to get back on here more often. Signature updated and profile pic added :)
DH & I still have the lurgy but awake past 9pm for the 1st time in 2 weeks so signs of improvement. Appointments completed but apart from that have stayed at home with the boys and rested where possible. Keeping the weekend plan free other than to try to zap these bugs once and for all, I'm fed up of feeling so lousy :(
My payday on Wednesday then DH's on Friday, may have a couple of low spends between now and then if we need any fresh bits but nothing obvious at the moment. Not likely to send much else to the debt either, possibly a couple of pounds from ebay, but pleased with what's been achieved this month - £623 paid off to date. Once again, as per the original plan, this amount plus our mortgage payment is pretty much covered by my wage with everything else coming from DH's wage. Seems to be working well for us right now, if we keep going at this rate we'll be debt free in June 2021, 2 years since starting the diary - I think I've just given myself (yet another) new target!
Hope everyone has a good weekend x

  • Hello all
I've been in an absolute miserable mood the last week or so, this never ending cold is still lingering & I'm feeling exhausted as DH is still struggling too and it's looking like the boys are starting with it again, what I wouldn't give for a full nights sleep and for someone to come in and do all the household chores! I've been averaging about 4 or 5 hours sleep throughout February :( Work is extremely full on at the moment and the course I'm doing is adding extra pressure as I've just not got any personal motivation to do it, it's a work specific course and I just can't be bothered with it, so all in all I'm not very good company.
I've been lurking on everyone's diaries in the wee small hours but not had a lot to say. Sending positive thoughts to all though even if I'm not feeling very positive myself.
Going to make an effort to be more cheerful and pro active in March as I feel like I've coasted through February in a fog of misery, I'll be glad to see the back of it!
In debt busting news, DH and I have been paid this week so the usual payments have been sent to the debts and the total is now in the £8's which is good progress. Have also paid the balance off the May half term holiday and sent a little to the October half term break.  Have set some spending money aside for the Grand National trip in April and reset the budgets so here's to a more positive month ahead :)
  • Sorry you've had a naff February, fingers crossed you get a more enjoyable March  x

Aww Dancing, the lack of sleep is a killer on top of everything else you have going on! I don't know how you manage it all, I'm struggling and still on mat leave. 😱

You're doing so well with the budgeting and debt busting. I feel like we're just getting worse with money, the debt total is going up instead of down!

Hope you're feeling better soon, I think everyone is desperate for Spring and a bit of sunshine. ☀️
