    Morning all,

Today is going to be all picture no sound - woke up at 4.30am with cramps from my monthly friend. I had also had an issue so stripped bed while waiting for painkiller to kick in and put on a wash. Thank goodness we live in a bungalow and I can't disturb the neighbours. I couldn't get back to sleep so now I'm existing on coffee.

Looked at my budget and I'm going to do 2 things to keep me accountable -
    1. make a list of all the smellies I have (I forget what I have and then buy more).
    2. only spend when it is time to replace something rather than when it gets low.
On the multiples - I'm fairly certain I have at least 2 cans of hair moouse and probably 2 hair serum. A proper inventory listed here should keep me on the straight and narrow. I tidied up the underwear/sock drawer and I had lots of things I didn't know I had but replace as I can't find them.

Shopping front - the only thing I 'need' at the moment is a lip pencil and a white top for work. I do like my 'wants' and if I didn't have any money then I couldn't spend but because I do ..I fritter it away.
I 'want' the new Karen Slaughter book for my holidays but hopefully it will turn up in the charity shop soon.

Money front- I tweaked my budget because I have 2 dinners out over the next 2 weeks, so I moved £20 from the anything else budget to the Dining out budget and that should hopefully be enough. I think the only thing that will be tight is diesel because I have over 100 miles to drive tonight and another 100 at the end of the month for another volunteer thing (don't get expenses for this one). As well as that I have my usual driving to work... I will have to be a bit lighter on the brake pedal.

    July budget

    Groceries - £[STRIKE]80[/STRIKE]/£29.10 left
    Dining out/fun - £[STRIKE]100[/STRIKE]/£64 left
    Everything else - £[STRIKE]110[/STRIKE]/£40.65 left
    Diesel - £[STRIKE]150[/STRIKE]/£43 left.

I am with you on that one, every time I have a clear out I wonder how I have ended up with so many of basically the same thing :rotfl:
  • It's a good idea to have an audit as toiletries and cosmetics are very expensive.

I hope you sleep better tonight, I'm quite glad that I don't get periods anymore!

Hi HHD & SSDD - another example of not knowing what I have - put on my shopping list a new beach bag for holidays as I know my old one is done (strap broke). Last night I was hunting for my rucksack and pulled out the old beach bag (which ex-OH had repaired and is still ok) and a new beach bag I had bought in the sales in January which I had totally forgotten about - so lists are going to be done tonight.

I think it will also be interesting to see if I actually use the things I buy. I have a pile of cosmetics & toiletries sitting and I'm fairly confident I only use a quarter of them :o.

Got home last night after volunteer thing and slept for 8 hours :). I feel like another 8 hours should get me back to normal. I'm meeting a friend tomorrow night and she is a serious shopper so hoping that apart from dinner and paying from parking I can resist all other temptation.

Also read something yesterday and it said 'If you didn't need it yesterday - you don't need it today' - need to keep that mantra

    Hi

I’ve just done my inventory ..wow :o - don’t we all need 5 deodorants, 3 cans of hair moouse & 6 toothbrush heads? :o. Scary thing is that if I had seen toothbrush heads on offer I would have bought more. All deodorants except 1 are open. It will be interesting for me to record when I next have to buy new. The only thing I need to buy is ear buds - that’s it, nothing else for a very very long time.

    Morning,

Busy day ahead. I'm taking my Mum for her hospital appointment at the Royal in Belfast. We know it's bad news but whether its a bad but will be monitored or bad - something needs to be done, is what we will find out today. Mum thought she had cancer and is relieved that it's not that ..strange how the relief that you don't have cancer is better than the illness you do have. It's all about perspective.

So we could fly up the motorway and be there in 40 mins or get stuck in traffic and not get into car park and need to add on an extra hour...decisions decisions .

Met friend for dinner last night and managed to pootle round shops and buy nothing:). I just kept thinking 'I didn't need it yesterday and I don't need it today' but boy was I tempted. I spent £1 on parking and £22 in restaurant.

Health front - had mini binge on Wed night but rather than freaking out I sat down and looked at my food diary the next day. I had 1 portion of veg all day Wed and that explains why my body wanted food...but it wanted green food and I fed it beige. Live and learn so had lots of fruit and veg yesterday and I need to keep it up today.

    Plans today -
    • take Mum to hospital
    • stock up on some fruit & veg
    • weed garden and plant some gifted plants
    • take pup for walk (depending on weather)

July budget (13 days to go)

    Groceries - £[STRIKE]80[/STRIKE]/£29.10 left
    Dining out/fun - £[STRIKE]100[/STRIKE]/£41 left
    Everything else - £[STRIKE]110[/STRIKE]/£40.65 left
    Diesel - £[STRIKE]150[/STRIKE]/£43 left.

I have one more dinner out to go (23rd July) and hopefully I have enough left in budget & depending on how Mum feels today we could stop for coffee.

    Morning,

Yesterday was a good day, drove up to Royal hospital and because of the holidays there was little traffic and we got their super early. After a coffee where Mum admitted she was worried about appointment we got to see the specialist. Good news is that mum has an illness but they will just monitor her annually and there is a chance she will never feel any real affects in her lifetime. The relief was unreal - I texted the family and there were a lot of happy people.

We stopped at Lidl on way home where we stocked up on fresh & frozen fruit and veg. I had plans on taking dog for walk and planting some flower
s but I will do it today as the weather was so horrible yesterday afternoon.

I've just done 2 Prolific surveys so hopefully will soon have £25 in that pot. I can't be bothered with Swagbuck as I keep getting screened out.

    Surveys or extra money measures

    Swagbuck - 371SB
    Prolific - £22.94
    Topcashback - £24.88
    Pick my postcode (free).

    Plans today
    • Clean house
    • Plant flowers
    • Dreaded ironing.

Hi there Munchin - have finally caught up with you!

I'm so pleased to hear about your mum - what a blessed relief for her, you and your family. :j

Well done on sorting out your toiletries - I used to waste quite a bit here and on make-up but made the decision to cut back ruthlessly. One of my best MSE decisions. I still will BOGOF and three for twos, but only if the offer is for something I always use like cotton pads, toothpaste etc. And I don't go made on these - just one offer at a time so that I don't hoard stuff.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend
