Well, work has quite frankly been awful the past couple of days and I'm exhausted. I work in customer care, which basically means I deal with complaints day in and day out, which is soul destroying at times and I wish my skin was a lot thicker! As much as I dislike it, it's in the village so I get to come home at lunch and it takes me 5mins to get there and back. It's also the best paid job I've ever had at £19.5k a year, so I feel like I'm stuck there, but wanting to leave asap does give me the motivation I need to get this mortgage paid off as quick as I can!
With that in mind and reading so many diaries mentioning it, I've decided to give matched betting a go! Luckily, bf has the same mindset as me and he's going to give it a go too, although his winnings will go into his help to buy isa. I'm hoping we can help each other to get to grips with it and tonight we've done our first bets on the footie!
I called the gas company today and all is well with the consent form that the neighbour signed, it could just take up to 20 working days to get a planned date for them to carry out the work to connect us to gas, we're only on working day no. 6 so still a while left
Oh well, we'll get there in the end....eventually!!Mortgage Balance as of Jan 24 £36,500 Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. 2024 Overpayment Challenge: Jan £558.40, Feb £588.11, Mar £497.321 -
I hope things at work improve. I definitely know that feeling of staying somewhere because of location!
The matched betting could definitely contribute to the mortgage. It’s quite fun too when you get into it1 -
Gosh, I don't envy you dealing with complaints all day  I'd be utterly useless but I definitely do envy you your five minute commute! :j :j
Good luck with the matched betting :j As you've probably spotted I've been experimenting myself - started mid March last year and am now about £60 away from a total profit of £5000  :money: :money:
Give me a shout if I can help with anything - can't promise I'll know mind you :rotfl: My best advice is start with the Team Profit website and go VERY SLOWLY until you've worked it out. Good luck!1 -
Hi Forvar Thanks for shopping by and the support!
Hi cheery! Yeah, reading about your matched betting was definitely the boost I needed to think 'enough people are talking about this and doing well, so pull your finger out and get started!' We then watched the Team Profit videos through a couple of times and then again when doing our first trigger bet and then free bet. Thanks so much for the offer of help, I really appreciate itMortgage Balance as of Jan 24 £36,500 Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. 2024 Overpayment Challenge: Jan £558.40, Feb £588.11, Mar £497.321 -
My first go at matched betting and I have a £11.11 profit! :j I'm now onto the next offer!
Not a lot else to report, work still stinks but on the plus side bf made me a lovely omelette for tea tonight using some veg leftover in the fridge
Have a lovely rest of your week

Thanks ch4rly I highly recommend Team Profit, which I learnt from cheery. They have very simple videos that take you through each step and then a handy spreadsheet to keep track of everything.Mortgage Balance as of Jan 24 £36,500 Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. 2024 Overpayment Challenge: Jan £558.40, Feb £588.11, Mar £497.321 -

I'm sorry to hear that South Coast, I hope things improve for you. I keep thinking, there's people that have it a lot worse off but sometimes you just have such a bad time you need to let it out!Mortgage Balance as of Jan 24 £36,500 Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. 2024 Overpayment Challenge: Jan £558.40, Feb £588.11, Mar £497.321
