Thanks hetty!
Yep, today is the day that we are meant to exchange and complete! We went to see the house again last night to make sure all was well after the tenant had left and apart from being a little dirty and the odd bits that need touching up it was fine. The actual owners were there for the first time, they were a nice couple who were disappointed it wasn't as well looked after as they had hoped so they are arranging for someone to come do the touching up and we left them cleaning!
Unfortunately, I got the bill for my divorce from the solicitor yesterday  I was so busy with the house, I completely forgot about it! It's such a long process. Luckily the money I have left and saved covers it but my EF fund is at zero so the scrimping for real starts today!!
Have a lovely day!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thank you very much for the support, it reminds me why I joined this forum to begin with a few years ago.
We are yet to sleep in the house, unfortunately the owners that we left 'cleaning' seemed to have been putting a bit of a show on and when we moved in it was still filthy! We've cleaned the carpet in our bedroom with my nan's carpet washer, cleaned all the windows inside and out (I honestly don't think they'd been cleaned since installation), cleaned out all the kitchen cupboards and done the bathroom (the shower screen had a thick layer of grim which made me shudder!). We moved most of our things in but theres still some stuff to go and after the heat of today, we were just shattered and have come back to crash at my parents house.
Theres been a lot of spending, as you would expect but the first mortgage payment doesnt come out until August so theres a payday in between.
Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine and have a lovely rest of your weekend!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
