Thanks Jess ❤
I went into the office this morning at 8:00am and did 3 hours there, then got everything I thought I would need to work from home, shoved it all in a bag and left. I was all set up by 11:30am and did the rest of the day from home. Did a few teams calls, including with the production director of the factory, which I think put his mind at ease that he can actually speak to me and even see me on the video call even though I'm at home, making my working from home more acceptable. There seems to be a stigma at our place that if you work from home you're a slacker, for me it's the opposite, I get so much more work done! IT just need to get me a work phone sorted now. I'm not sure how long it will last but I will work my botty off, so that they can't say I wasn't productive! I'm sure the dogs like having me at home too 🙂
Not much to report on the money front, all the direct debits have gone out and I'm left thinking that it seems like it's going to be years before we get paid again 😂 I'm going to see if we can make all the food in the cupboards and freezer last until the end of the month, I'm 99.9% certain there is enough there to do it, with only top up shops for bread and milk. Seems like a fun challenge 😃

Glad WFH is working so well for you and your boss!
We've seen everyone being more productive during the last year of WFH with no drop off.
I'm sure you'll be as appreciative of the doggies as they are of you. 🙂

Glad you've got your set up sorted more or less Jessy. I bet new dog will appreciate the settling-in time being extended with you there. Hopefully your example of WFH will help the boss allow others to do it and be safe.
Much the same for us with food this month!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks Grogged & Vix. It is nice and I can wear my comfy slippers all day 😃
Well, BF had his assessments for new job today and all went great so they offered him an interview straight away! He'll hear next week as to whether he has got the job, fingers crossed!

Hi Jessie, glad bf got a follow up interview and good for you for asking to work from home. It’s not an easy thing to do if others are continuing to go in, my youngest ds has just (agency temp work though) told them he’s not coming in now as most of the staff where he is don’t believe in the virus and don’t take precautions, apparently they are even watering down the hand wash to save money 😱 he’s been there a couple of months but the feeling of unease was getting worse and worse.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6

Ouch NG, that's a crazy attitude 😮 You'd think people would be a LOT more switched on than that where you are - you must be right in the thick of it there....🙁Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

That's terrible, NG! I just can't fathom people's thinking! I feel a stronger lockdown will come into play soon as so many businesses are staying open this time, including the one we work for, that really aren't essential.
This week two people tested positive in the factory, they work in the same department. Luckily not the same department as BF, but the likelihood of us getting it now is very high. I have felt a lot less stressed working from home and if BF does get it, then passes it on to me, I won't be taking it in to the office with me. I now have a phone set up at home, so I can answer and make calls, it should take another load of heat off me because people can't complain that I can't answer the phone at home anymore. The temp we had in has now left, so I'm back to doing two people's jobs again but in all honesty she was pretty rubbish, so it's actually saving me time just doing it all myself! Apparently my hard work hasn't gone unnoticed but I won't hold my breath for any sort of reward!
New dog has been with us two weeks now and is really coming along nicely. We haven't had any accidents for nearly a week and he is getting used to the walking routine. He is starting to put on a little bit of weight and he is learning some self control with his food (he has to wait until I say he can start on his food, this is helping me teach him to leave food that has been dropped on the floor). We went for a lovely walk this morning round the local woods and he was really good interacting with all the other dogs and different breeds (socially distanced from the owners, of course) and we did a bit of recall training with him. Dog 2 is helping as she is so good off lead and coming back to us, I don't think we'll have a problem getting new dog back as he wants to be where she is!
The eating of the cupboard/freezer store is going well, BF went to get some bread and milk yesterday but that's it. I booked a delivery slot for 26th so still a ways to go!
Take care and stay safe! ❤
