Ooh, exciting potential dog news! Interesting that you've managed to find a rescue. We're not looking for a dog but I do occasionally have a mini daydream... and I've only ever found rescues that have lots of rules about gardens etc. We have loads of room, but the garden isn't fenced in, so I suspect we'd be ruled out of most places. Not entirely sure I'd trust a dog with the chickens anyway so for now I will just watch and get excited about yours!3

Hope the visit went well

Thanks all! ❤
The visit did indeed go well and we have a new addition to the family! He's not even 2, so still needs some training and he still has his bits, which means we've had to tell him off for humping dog 2! She is also telling him and putting him in his place, this did result in a clash of teeth and dog 2 getting a cut lip, but nothing serious and new dog has been giving her some space since. I think he was taken away from his mum too soon and therefore didn't learn his doggy manners! He slept well in his crate and we didn't hear a peep out of him all night. He is very food orientated as we were told they starved him to keep him lean and encourage him to race faster as food was a reward! That makes me so angry! 😡 We've now got a week to get him settled before going back to work and the dogs will be kept separate while we're out to begin with until they get used to each other but early signs are good and he's going to be a great dog.
Overall he's cost us about £90 so far, the adoption fee was £150 but we got £70 cash for Christmas so put that towards it. There are a few bits we've had to buy him, like a coat, a special bowl to slow down he's eating, a collar and tag etc but we got some Amazon vouchers for Christmas too so have used those. When you think the cost of puppies are around £1k-£3k at the moment, we've started calling him our MSE pupper! 😂

So pleased for you. It is always exciting (and stressful) to introduce a new dog. I am sure he will settle down quickly and learn that he is love and cared for. Good luck with slowing his eating. We have never managed it with our border collie who despit have a slow feeding bowl and being given his meals in two courses he still gobbles it and occasionally manages to vomit it up a couple of hours later.

Thanks all! ❤
@ladyholly We've bought him a slow eating bowl and a snuffle mat which seem to be helping. 🙂
His new coat arrived today and he looks very handsome as you can see below! His toilet training is coming along and we're just having the odd accident. Touch wood, no accidents today at all! We're now just getting them used to us leaving the house for when we go back to work, but they seem to be doing well and won't be left for more than two hours between breaks. He's a really lovely dog and definitely our little Christmas miracle 😃
