It's Friday and I'm still in bed with a cup of tea! We have today and Monday off work, so making the most of it. DH got up and walked the dogs, so I've had a nice lay in. We will be getting up shortly and going to the local shopping outlet for a mooch and then something to eat. Looking forward to it!
It's been an alright week, cleaning job Tuesday and I got asked if I could do an extra hour every week on a Saturday morning, so that will be an extra bit coming in, but it means I have two cleaning jobs tomorrow morning back to back. Had another cleaning job yesterday and DH did his taught two Karate classes, one for kids and one for adults. He's getting an extra student each week so far which is nice and he's now looking to set up a class on a different night in a neighbouring village. I'm very proud of him!
We have been paid today so I've made an overpayment to the mortgage and it now stands at £15,900. On Monday 30th June, my allowance resets, so I'm going to make a bigger overpayment then to take it into the £14s. Getting so close to that £10k barrier!
We have had a bit of an expense this week though as dog 3 had to go to the vets again with her bladder issues. We decided to have her urine sent off for more intensive tests to see if there is an underlying issue that is causing her to get UTIs on a regular basis. Hopefully they will find something that can be treated and that will be that. If not it may have to do with her internal workings and she will need an ultra sound and then possibly surgery. We will cross our fingers for the first option. The consultation and test set us back £311. She is insured and we will look at claiming depending on what results we get. As the rescue didn't know her age, it was estimated she was born 2019, but we and our vet think she's probably older than that. Either way she has a loving home now and we will do anything we can to keep her nice and healthy for the rest of her life.
Dog 2 turned 6 this week and he's just a dipstick! 🤣 He got some nice treats and a new toy, which he loves.

Wow - I haven’t heard anyone use dipstick for years! When I was a child, someone called their cat dipstick and we frequently heard them shouting its name to get it inside 😂2025 decluttering: 3,766🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Hope Dog 3’s test results show something that’s easily fixable - it’s always such a worry when pets are ill. DH’s karate business sounds like it’s going really well!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

He gets called worse things, jess but dipstick is the most appropriate 🤣
Thanks Vix, it is because they can't tell you what's wrong so you just don't know what to do.
Two cleaning jobs done this morning, thankfully not as hot as I thought it was going to be, so not as sweaty! Was still nice to get home and have a nice cold shower.

Thanks SC and Beanie x My god parents were there as well as they are stopping nearby for a long weekend, so it was lovely to see them too and the Chinese was delicious!
An early start this morning, as I was out with the dogs at 5am, while it was nice and cool. I've been cross stitching the rest of the day for my mums birthday next week and taking the dogs out for quick toilet breaks. Can't wait to have a garden!! I always think people must be judging me as well, thinking I'm an awful owner taking my dogs out for a walk in the heat. Truth is I always test the pavement with my bare feet or the back of my hand first and have taken them out one at a time before, carrying them to shade and a bit of communal grass across the road, so having a garden is going to be amazing! Only 18 months to go and I'm hoping we'll be able to start looking. I would like it to be sooner but that wouldn't be realistic, as I'm too old for a suagr daddy 🤣 We will get there eventually!
Tomorrow the allowance resets and I can make my big overpayment for the month! Woohoo! I'll also do a round up as it will have been 6 years since we moved in 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
