Hooray to Natwest finally getting their act together!I thought the 5am wake-up call from B&W cat was bad - glad he seems to understand that middle-of-the-night loo visits are not for getting up! Hope you manage to have an uninterrupted night's sleep tonight!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks vix and ladyholly x
I did sleep a lot better last night. I didn't need to get up for a wee, so didn't wake any dogs either, phew! 🤣
I ended up streaming for 5hrs yesterday and it was nice to talk to my regulars in chat. The game I'm playing is a little annoying though, the actual gameplay isn't my cup of tea but the story is very interesting. (I'm aware this might sound bonkers to a lot people as some still think video games are just for kids, but there a lot of games that are very story based nowadays and they are like an interactive movie) I also got some subs, so I'm working towards a £50 payout again.
We have been paid this morning and I have been able to do my OP online, meaning the mortgage is now £16,900. 😀 Definitely on track to be under £10k by the end of the year. Thinking about going for an extra goal of under £7k but this might be a bit too ambitious, it's something to aim for anyway.
My £10 from Norstat has gone into the account this morning and as DH has had a nice payrise this year tied into his new job role he is now giving me an extra £50 with his side of the bills. I've had my email from NW as well about the £100 from them. This will all be a nice help this month as it's the month for the TV licence renewal and then home insurance will be due as well. I'll wait to get my renewal price from current provider first before shopping around as last year it turned out not to be worth switching, so we'll see what this year's brings.
I have got one cleaning job this morning and it is for my grandad, so will do that and spend a bit of time with him.
Also, a bit of a funny story, a wedding gift we received (so back in September 23) was a street sign that we thought said Mr & Mrs (insert our surname here) EST. 16th September 2023. Lovely gift and we put it up straight away above the front door. Fast forward to the other day when boyo was here and he said 'you know that sign says Mrs & Mrs and not Mr & Mrs, right?' Well, blooming heck, in all the time it had been up there we had never noticed the mistake!! 🤣🤣🤣 Even boyo said he'd looked at it before and he'd never noticed it, we've had several people round and they've never noticed it either, or unless they just didn't want say anything. Anyway, I ordered a replacement sign and we'll do that today. Did make us giggle, but strange what the brain just puts right, isn't it?

The trouble is none of us read a whole word letter by letter. So we only see what we expect to see.3

Well, I must be psychic because not long after I sent my post this morning, I checked my emails and there was one from the insurance provider about the home insurance, but it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. It said they're not able to offer us a renewal price this year and our insurance will come to an end at the end of June. It didn't give the exact reason why but said it might be because the property is at a higher risk of making a claim or that the crime rate has gone up in the area e.g. more thefts! Couldn't believe it! This made my anxiety go through the roof worrying that we wouldn't get insurance from anyone, but after doing a comparison search, we have applied and got new insurance through another company. We have 6 years of no claims so no idea why it was a problem and without the exact reason was very worrying. Hopefully, all will be OK with the new provider. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
After that panic, I then went to my grandads and spent some time with him and did his cleaning. My aunt is taking him to Whitby for a few days in a couple of weeks and he was quite excited about that. I came home, had a nice shower and some lunch and then promptly nodded off for a couple of hours 🤣 Was then feeling lazy, so we've had Chinese for tea, but that was the last treat of our holiday, mainly because I'm now poor from the mortgage OP and home insurance (I'm aware saying I'm poor is far from the truth, but it helps me not to spend anymore money on frivolous things and keeps it in my savings 🤣)Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

A productive Saturday, walked the dogs at 6am then went back to bed for a bit before getting up, making scrambled eggs for the dogs to have with their breakfast and fried eggs on potato waffles for me and DH. Washed the windows and the front door, sowed cosmos seeds in my window box and filled up the bird feeder, then went round and touched up some of the paint on the external of the house and did another section around the back. The back of our house is in the neighbours back garden and it's locked down like Fort knox, so we have to get permission from them to open their electric gate to get access round the back and they are hardly ever in. They have a holiday home somewhere and go away weeks at a time (how the other half live, eh?) and they won't less us have the key code to their gate, as we're too dodgy and poor for them 🤣 I'll be glad when we don't have to deal with it anymore because it's a bit of a pain! I then did a load of washing, which is now drying. We had leftover Chinese bits for dinner and then another dog walk. Veggie burgers for tea and an episode of Taskmaster watched. Now waiting for an amazon delivery. I decided to try bulk buying shower gel and seeing if it works out cheaper, so I've got 6x original source bottles of rhubarb and raspberry coming which cost £5.88 and then I need to restock my birthday cards so a pack of 24x for £9.99.
I've done a few surveys as well, so hopefully making progress to payouts there. Haven't had anything from Prolific lately, but I guess that's due to half term and exams.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
