Still having issues with overpaying the mortgage online and have contacted Natwest about sorting it out. Hopefully it will be resolved next week. In the meantime I have to call them to make an overpayment, which meant I had to listen to an automated voice telling me I could do it online and then the lady I finally got through to also telling me I could do it online and it would be quicker. I then ended up telling her why I couldn't and finished off with 'I assure you, if I could do it online, I would!!'
Anyway, a £400 overpayment made and the mortgage is now £17,900 (although because doing it over the phone is slower, I have to wait upto 5 working days for it to update the total when I log in 🙄)Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

It really shouldn't, Beanie, especially in this day and age. I was on the phone 15mins and 10 of those were spent listening to automated messages 😡
Anyway, this morning was only a quick post, so here's a proper roundup of this week. DH returned safely home on Sunday and enjoyed his weekend away at Karate camp. There's another one in September that he plans on going to and a possible one during the summer. It makes him happy so it's all good with me (that and I get to eat what I want and watch what I want while he's not here, also the house was so much cleaner and tidier 🤣). I did finish the cross stitch that I was doing for my work colleague that retired on Friday and he seemed very happy with it, so that was good.
I had three cleaning jobs during the week and next week is set to be a busy one with 5 cleaning jobs. I will be taking the following week off from all work as we have BILs wedding down in Cheltenham on the Bank Holiday Monday and won't be back home until Tuesday, so we thought we would take the rest of the week off and have a break.
We are having to put the dogs in kennels for two nights next weekend for this wedding and I'm not looking forward to it as Dog 1 is nearly 11 years old and I worry about her so much nowadays. I've had her since 8 weeks old and we have been through so much together, I hate the thought of something happening to her when I'm not around. DH says not to worry because she's very healthy and still very cheeky. I know he's right, unfortunately I'm quite an anxious person. It's also quite costly for 3 dogs in kennels as well, but hey ho, needs to be done!
Overall, just need to get through this week and then a nice break to look forward to.
Here's my jaws cross stitch. I think I'll work on a sloth one next for my mum's birthday 🙂

Last week was a busy one with work and then 5x cleaning jobs, but was definitely worth it. We went down to Cheltenham for BIL's wedding and have just got back this morning. Quite a costly few days as we've had boyo with us and have paid for his food and accommodation as well as our own, but it was a nice time and it's all done with now.
We picked up the dogs from kennels when we got back and my cleaning money covered it. They are absolutely tuckered out, bless them and they're not the only ones! I've already had a little nap and will definitely be having an early night, I've had very little sleep over the past couple of nights as I find it very hard to sleep in strange places. I did us a cooked breakfast when we got home and then we'll have curry for tea, then tomorrow morning boyo will make his own way home. Its quite nice now he can drive himself! It has been nice seeing him though as he is doing exams, working and then he will be off to uni in September, so it will be a while before we see him again.
Me and DH have the rest of the week off work, so I brought home a nice big box last week and will have a bit of a declutter and donate the items to the charity shop at the village community hall. I also have a load of books I want to see if I can sell and if not, I will donate those to the village library. Lastly, I want to find some time for streaming as I just haven't had the time or the energy lately and was in the middle of a game, so if would be nice to finish that this week.
My ERC is still showing incorrectly on the Natwest website and I have put an official complaint in now as they are just not sorting it and it'll be 3 weeks soon. Unfortunately, this means that when I get paid on Friday I will have to call them again to make an overpayment and listen to their automated message telling me how much quicker it is to do online 🙄 My overpayment allowance does reset at the end of June so hopefully it will all be sorted then 🤞Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Beanie and Vix x
Well, today has been super busy. Got up and saw boyo off, washed his bedding and then me and DH got to decluttering. We managed to clear quite a bit and donated it to the community hall thrift shop. We still have some books and other bits to donate tomorrow and will also be having a tip trip to get rid of some broken electrical items. We then packed away some stuff that we're not using at the moment but want to keep for when we move to a bigger place (games consoles and guitar amps) and took them to my parents to put in their loft. I then had a good clean and it feels so much better already! I'm wanting to tackle the kitchen cupboards as well, as we were given quite a few pots and pans when we moved in that we just don't use, so planning on donating those.
We were able to sit out in the garden with my parents for an hour this afternoon and then after cooking tea, I'm finally having a relax. I do need to take off my nail polish though as it's pretty chipped after today's shenanigans.
I had quite the pleasant surprise from natwest today. They still haven't fixed the ERC mistake on their website, but their complaints department offered me compensation of £75 for the inconvenience! I was not expecting that at all, but I'm certainly not turning it down! I will still have to call to overpay until they sort the issue but getting some compensation was a nice gift and it actually covers my May mortgage interest amount.
I have also cashed out £10 from Norstat surveys, so will wait for that to come into the bank. Overall a good day 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Beanie x
Bit of a lazy morning this morning, as I woke up at about 3:30am to go for a wee and dog 3 then assumed I was getting up and we were going for a walk. I took her out for a quick wee, but oh no, this was not enough for madam and then ensued an hour of whinging from her before I finally gave in and took all 3 dogs out for a walk at 5am. This was satisfactory to her ladyship and I was then able to go back to sleep until 8am. We've then had 2x cups of tea and breakfast in bed and I'm still not up yet! Ah well, we are on holiday after all 🤣
I have checked the bank this morning and have already received the £75 from Natwest and when I checked my mortgage online, guess what, they have finally fixed the issue and the correct ERC is now showing! 🥳 This is great news as it is pay day tomorrow and I can do my overpayment online rather than having to ring up. Woohoo!
Not a lot planned for today, the tip is actually closed on Thursdays so we can't do that today and so is the thrift shop, so will also have to go there with the rest of the donations another day. I think I will get the windows cleaned on the inside while it's a bit grey and miserable outside, then do some streaming. DH has his kids karate class this evening, so we'll have our main meal at dinnertime and then something lighter for tea, so he's not teaching on a full stomach.
Have a good day all xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
